IT Change Agent Program Workforce Readiness


Primary Objectives  Educate select IT employees/ managers on change management tools, processes, and methodology.  Enable change agents to apply the knowledge/ skills in their current and future roles.


Change Agent Competencies Candidates were identified as based on the following criteria: – – – – – – –

Passion around involvement/ engagement Relevance to your “day job” Organizational credibility/ business influence Excellent communication skills Knowledge of our business Comfort level dealing with ambiguity and flexibility. Interest/ desire to learn about the “people side” of change – Ability to incorporate change work into your current role


Roles/ Responsibilities • Advocate for involving the Workforce Readiness Change team on projects that require people to work differently, and need stakeholder “buy in” to be successful. • Incorporate change management principles into your work (focus on increasing acceptance). • Utilize the tools in your current role, seeking guidance from Workforce Readiness change team as needed.


Development Curriculum • Change Agent Kickoff: 1 hour • Change Agent Orientation: 1.5 days • Monthly Change Agent Touchbase: 1 hour monthly


Change Agent Resources  IT Leading Change Toolkit created to expand on AEP Human Resources Leading Change guide, and provide additional tools/ resources for work on IT projects.  The Workforce Readiness team created an online IT Change Agent Toolkit. The toolkit includes links to organizational change templates and resources.  IT Change Agents Community Page was also created to facilitate discussion and collaboration amongst IT Change Agents. The Workforce Readiness change team maintains this page, and encourages participation.
