PORTFOLIO JONATHAN ZISSER
Architectural starts with an endeavour to achieve a sensible comprehension of its context. it is an essential step before going through the design process. to accomplish that, I concentrates on some fundamental aspects of the project, such as program requirments, urban context and social consideration. Each Project is a multifarious challenge that requires a certain level of research. I have always taken advantage of auto-didacticism to reach a profound understanding of distinct aspects of the project. Architecture come along with Construction. the structure, constructional techniques, and materiality form the essence of architecture.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE: Architect, Derman-Verbakel Architeture, Tel-Aviv, IL [from 03/2020] - [to 09/2020] In this period I have worked in the construction of public Library and school extension 'ElRashdia' in Tel-Aviv, collaborating with consultants and engineers on daily basis and drawing plans and details for execution; The project is still under construction.
Architectural Intern, SuperSpatial, Milano, IT [from 03/2019] - [to 08/2019]
During this professional experience, I have participated in one of the larger tenders competition in Italy in these times for the HQ of new Human Technopole. The design consisted of a Laboratory building and a master plan developed to high level to be integrated in the ex-Expo area-in Rho Fiera, Milano. The project has arrived to 2nd place.
Junior Architect, Yashar Architect, Tel - Aviv, Israel, IL [From 09/2017] - [09/ 2018]
During this continuous work placements, I was engaging with all aspects of the practice work: preliminary concept design stage, initial planning and accompanying projects in advanced planning stages up to implementation phase. In Summer 2019 I was taking part in the design team who submitted a proposal for a tallest tower in Israel (530 m. high) for the Israel diamond industry in Tel Aviv. The project has won and today is under construction
Architectural Intern, Studio Giovanni Bassi, Milano, IT [from 02/2017] - [05/2017] During this internship I have been working on a public building invited competition in Lurago D'erbe, Lombardy region. The project was shortlisted
APPARATUS The thesis is a theoretical and design exploration of the essential matters, be they conceptual and technical, that the proposal for the future final compound of Basel University's Life Science Campus implies and discloses. The location on the river Rhine made the city of Basel a strategic place to exchange goods and knowledge between Southern and Northern Europe. As such, out of the Historic Center, the City followed a strategy of growth based on 'clusters' wherein the world leading science companies gathered and created optimal environments for research and production. Thus, as part of the Campuses "system" within the city, the new Life-Science Campus is anticipated to re-provide Basel University with new Chemistry, Physics and Anatomy Departments laboratory facilities, and their serving spaces.

ASSEMBLAGE The proposal is part of a general urban intervention which was called Super Block; an attempt to unify the campus blocks of 'Politecnico di Milano'. The goal was to provide a sense of continuity from an urban point of view. Assemblage was the pivot point of this Masterplan. A composition consisted of a negative volume that incorporated the sunken piazza and exhibition hall aside to volumes to host the new Aula Magna (theatre) and laboratories. The contrast is not only present on the volumetric composition; it also has been exhibited through elevations. The massive volume contains the theatre is suspended above the sunken piazza and shelters the common study hall beneath. The slender light volume that hosts the laboratories performs as a translucent monolith to protect the sunken piazza from direct sunlight. The roof of the small volume that hosts the exhibition area has been treated as its third facade to let light penetrate the interiors.

ASYMPTOTE The auditorium is situated in Fagnano Olona natural reserve in Lombardy region, IT. The site ex-industrial area of the province had been transformed to clean the Olona river and re-use as a public park for citizens and tourist. The Auditorium is hovering above the remnants of a concrete reservoir which was used to maintain chemical substances; its previous function had been the main factor to contaminate the soil. Through this intervention, an architectural solution is proposed. dealing with the circumstances of this particular site along with the creation of a new central cultural hub in the general gentrification up and coming process.

MEMENTO At the beginning of the 1st century AD Palmyra (Tadmur) was subjected in the Roman empire. The wealth of the city in this period enabled the constructions of monument such as the Great Colonnade, the Temple of Bell and the distinctive Tower Tombs, Over time Palmyra had become a classical architecture hub among Arabic cities in the context. In 2015 , ISIS had damaged precious parts of the historical ruins. A Our study focused on recreating the space of the what once was the great city of Palmyra. Following the design strategy of ancient city planning, we studied the urban actors of the city aside to the domestic Roman houses. The outcome is a monument which re-attract tourist to the site and recall the people who have lost their life in Palmyra.
