For luminaires equipped with DALI system, all cables, connections and equipment used must comply and adapt to the relative mains voltage; The DALI signal may not be transmitted with a very low safety voltage (SELV).

if you want to use projectors of third part be sure that they’re constant voltage is 24Vdc

Luminaire

• The fixture has been tested according to the standard IEC 62471:2006 photobiological safety of lamps – the fixture is classified in risk group 1: no danger due to limitation of the product’s built-in radiation emission.

• For information on LED replacement please contact K-array.

• The luminaire is used exclusively for lighting and is to be installed in accordance with the national installation regulations. Any other use or installation is regarded as «not according to instructions».

The luminaire wiring is provided with terminal block on both side Ensure the wirings are sealed at both end of the fixture before powering.

Rail is a streamlined 1.2m architectural light with professional audio developed by K-array, built to provide a powerful blend of sound and light.

As shown in the lighting figures, five different optical models are available with optional indirect lighting, audio and control.

The audio version comprises three evenly spaced full-range loudspeakers to be driven by a K-array external amplifier.

Outer casing assembly

The RAIL lighting system can be installed in the ceiling either recessed or semi-recessed. The proper housing shield shall be assembled before setting the RAIL, according to the selected mounting option.

While assembling the housing shield, select the height of the brackets matching the thickness of the ceiling panels. Three options are available for either 10 mm (0.39 in), 12,5 mm (0.5 in) or 15 mm (0.67 in) ceiling panel thickness.

All nuts are M3; use a 5,5 mm wrench for tightening.

Cut the false ceiling to make the room for the casing.

If necessary, install the safety cords (not provided in the package) to suspend the casing

Adjust the height of the wing accoring to the thickness of the panels

Fix the casing to the false ceiling, then proceed to the installation of the RAIL.

Connectivity

Two wiring pairs are always present on each RAIL model:

- the RED/BLACK pair is dedicated to powering the LED strips

- the BLUE/BROWN pair carries the audio signal

- the WHITE wires are provided for DALI (Digital Addressable Lighting Interface) control protocol (only for DALI equipped models)

RAIL are provided with WAGO terminal block on both side, so to connect RAIL in cascade (max 5 units can be connected together)it’s necessary to seal one by one each wirings:

- Power wirings

- Audio wirings

- DALI wirings

No more than 5 units can be connected in cascade. No more than 3 units RGBW can be connected in cascade. The suggested power supply unit is a 24 ±1,0% VDC Constant Voltage.

The RAIL fixture can be controlled by a traditional light switch to toggle it completely on and off.

RAIL must be connected to a 24Vdc constant voltage Power Supply, with the correct output wattage to power the RAIL line.

Regardless of the power supply output capability for lighting, up to 5 RAIL units only can be connected in a cascade or 3 RAIL RGBW units only can be connected in a cascade.

PSU are not included in the package so the installer needs to verify the compliance of the driver with the RAIL fixture.

DALI connection

There are also DALI ready RAIL.

RAIL has the DALI controller inside the body and the different channels are already distributed.

DALI ready RAIL should be addressed before the installation, according to the client’s and space necessity.

A DALI network allows to connect and control up to 64 devices. The devices could be controlled by a PWM dimming controller. The PWM Dimming Controller shall be compatible with 24 VDC Constant Voltage, 10 Amin LED light application.

In addition to the standard wirings, it’s necessary to use the BUS DALI wires for the communication of all the devices with the DALI network.

The wiring gauge depends on the distance between the RAIL fixture and the driver position.

The gauge needs to be verified by the installer properly.
