2016-17 AHEARN FUND MEMBERSHIP GUIDE
TO OUR LOYAL K-STATE SUPPORTERS
WELCOME TO AMERICA’S #1 COLLEGE TOWN
On behalf of K-State Athletics, I want to thank you for your support in what was another exciting year for K-State Athletics and the Ahearn Fund in America’s #1 College Town. I am continually amazed by the generosity of our K-State family and your commitment to helping K-State continue its vision of being A Model Intercollegiate Athletics Program. The unrestricted dollars given by our Ahearn Fund members continue to be the life-blood of K-State Athletics. Thanks to the support of our Ahearn Fund members world-wide, a record $18.1 million in annual gifts were contributed to K-State Athletics in 2015-16. Another milestone was reached as our National Leadership Circle (NLC) – donors of $10,000 or more annually – grew to 500 members for the first time in department history! Our student-athletes continue to raise the bar as K-State sports teams had another banner year, both on the playing field and in the classroom. Highlighted by three NCAA Champions in track and field, the women’s team went on to finish tied for seventh at the NCAA Outdoor Championships and eighth at the national indoor meet while also finishing third both indoor and outdoor at this year’s Big 12 Championships. Other highlights from the 2015-16 year include: • • • • • •
WBB returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in four years. Volleyball advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth time in five years. Football advanced to its sixth straight bowl game. Coach Bill Snyder was enshrined into the College Football Hall of Fame. Consecutive NCAA golf regional appearances by Madison Talley. Akela Jones was named USTFCCCA National Women’s Field Athlete of the Year.
WABASH CANNONBALL VOTED #1 PREGAME TRADITION IN THE BIG 12
Academically, the Wildcats saw 161 student-athletes earn honors in their respective sports and programs with 22 All-American, 22 All-Big 12 and 126 Academic All-Big 12 selections. K-State once again set the national standard in APR as three sports recorded Big 12-leading scores (Football, Men’s Golf, and Women’s Cross Country). Our success this past year reached far past the athletics playing field as our consecutive sellout streak moved to 27 straight games, while the Wabash Cannonball was named the #1 pregame tradition in the Big 12 by ESPN.com. Phase IIIB of Bill Snyder Family Stadium was also completed, providing a full 360-degree concourse and another achievement of providing the Best Fan Experience in the Big 12! As you consider your 2017 annual Ahearn Fund gift, please know that every dollar makes an impact. The Ahearn Fund staff looks forward to answering any questions that you may have regarding your membership in the Ahearn Fund, seating and/or parking and would be honored to visit with you in person. We look forward to the 2016-17 season, and with your support, achieving our vision of being A Model Intercollegiate Athletics Program.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS WHY IS IT IMPORTANT THAT I MAKE MY PLEDGE AND SEND IN AT LEAST 25% OF MY CONTRIBUTION BY MARCH 1, 2017? Meeting the March 1, 2017 deadline helps the staff provide the best possible customer service, helps ensure fairness and enables the staff to deliver the fiscal accountability you deserve. By indicating your intent to renew your Ahearn Fund membership by March 1, you guarantee retention of your football seating and parking location, provided you meet the minimum contribution level for the seating and parking area, renew your tickets and pay the balance of your pledge by June 15. March 1 is also the date which Priority Points are calculated for football seating and parking upgrades. Additionally, having pledges in by March 1 helps the department accurately project revenues, which assist with the budgeting process for the coming athletic year. This process begins in March with a completed budget published in late June.
WHY IS MY TOTAL GIFT DUE BY JUNE 15, 2017? To maintain the department’s goal for fiscal responsibility and accountability, it is important that we can accurately project revenue, not only planning, but also for budgeting purposes. The budget process begins in March each year and the books are closed on June 30. Once the fiscal year ends in June, an annual report detailing how your gifts were utilized will be prepared and distributed to all Ahearn Fund members. Of course, you may complete your pledge in full at any time prior to the June 15 deadline.
WHAT HAPPENS IF I DON’T MAKE MY PLEDGE BY MARCH 1? OR MY TOTAL GIFT BY JUNE 15? It is important to meet deadlines established in this membership guide to ensure that you retain your current seats and parking. If you miss these deadlines, your seats and parking will be placed on our open seating/parking list and if there is a request that matches any open seats, those who have met the deadline will be moved into the open seats and/or parking. This is critical to ensure fair treatment for Ahearn Fund members and season ticket holders and giving those members who meet each deadline the opportunity to improve their seats and/or parking.

CALL: 888.232.9074
WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES TO PAYING MY GIFT BY MARCH 1? Points are credited only as dollars are received. Completing your gift by March 1 means that you will get Priority Point credit for the entire amount of the gift, which could improve your seats and/or parking. Points will be calculated on March 1 and those totals will be used for football seating and parking upgrades. Points calculated on June 15 will be used for men’s and women’s basketball requests.
CAN I PAY MY AHEARN FUND GIFT IN INSTALLMENTS? Yes, you can make monthly payments toward your Ahearn Fund pledge. Equal monthly payments can be charged to your credit card on the date you specify. An important note if you are setting up a monthly payment schedule for the first time: please make sure that 25% of the priority seating donation is paid by March 1 and the balance is paid by June 15. We will work to accommodate your requests in regards to your payment schedules.
CAN I JOIN THE AHEARN FUND IF I DON’T HAVE SEASON TICKETS? Yes, the Ahearn Fund is K-State’s National Fund for Student-Athlete Excellence. Being an Ahearn Fund member, at any level, helps the department to achieve it’s vision of being A Model Intercollegiate Athletics Program. Annual gifts to the Ahearn Fund are the lifeblood of Kansas State Athletics. Those dollars allow the department to provide A World-Class Student-Athlete Experience, maintain and provide on-going facility upgrades, attract and retain great coaches and enable a national recruiting reach. At the same time, we pledge to operate in a fiscally responsible and transparent manner.
HOW CAN I MAKE A REQUEST FOR A PARKING SPOT AT BILL SNYDER FAMILY STADIUM? The Ahearn Fund is proud to offer three parking options for members of the Ahearn Fund: Reserved, VIP and RV parking. In order to obtain a parking space, the request must be submitted to the Ahearn Fund by March 1. Requests can be made via mail, over the phone or online at parking@kstatesports.com or by calling the Ahearn Fund at 888.232.9074. Requests are reviewed and fulfilled each year based on availability and Priority Point order.
COMPLIANCE K-State Athletics, Inc., and its programs are governed by the rules and regulations of the NCAA and the Big 12 Conference. Your participation in this program and your acceptance of benefits and privileges available from the University as a part of this program is your acknowledgment and agreement that, in the event of any such finding by the NCAA, the Big 12 or the University, all future benefits and privileges will be canceled and/or forfeited by the school.
