WINTER 2020 [Nov.4- DEC.11]
Location: War Free area between South & North Korea Culture Musuem
The Cradle of Light in the military-free zone between North and South Korea, designed for leisure, exhibitions, and conferences. Its design emphasises light, allowing light to enter it like a cradle to create a spiritual space experience for visitors. The concept from White U House’s use of light, the weight of interlocking structures, and metabolism infect the design. The main form of the pavilion is divided into semi-closed and unenclosed two parts, reflecting the light reagents and virtual, but also distinguishing between the two spaces. Tectonic design logic, which breaks the edges of spaces. This structure grew from the sphere, symbolises the “harmony” in the Eastern culture of yin and yang, and unity between water and light connotes friendship; no matter how people act, they will eventually meet. People can first communicate and rest after entering the pavilion. Semi-enclosed space is designed for cultural and artistic exchanges. Pavilions, like coronas, gather light together by hollowing out to make the interior of the concrete space lighter. The light changes with time, but the audience always experiences dialysis, the most sacred element. The inner garden is the activity space, and the contrast of the inner garden and the outside wilderness includes the relationship between humans and nature

The industrial age is like a whirlpool, allowing human society to progress, and involving human beings in a material age with ample material but lack of spirit and destruction of the environment. Parts such as gears and nails constitute the tree of life for the society, which operates grotesquely and mechanically, turning human society like The plants under the barbed wire are as imprisoned

Just like the attraction of atoms, people in society meet each other because each other has a trait they need to make up for and help each other. Just like chemical acid-base reactions, different substances have the same characteristics and are complementary at the same time.
I used sandbox soldiers, civilians and tanks, as well as historical pictures using acrylic paint, and used mixed media techniques to make battlefield graffiti. Including those students who were crushed by tanks in the street resistance in 1989 and Dr. Wenliang Li who died after being blocked during Covid-19.

I used acrylic to paint several of my dreams into a “reincarnation series”. The story is that a person appointed by a sinful God, after countless hardships and atonement, discovered that everything has become nothingness, and the past is irreversible.
