One Day One Trip is a collective project by Klise Bekasi, an analog photography club based in Bekasi.
In late 2019, we took a photo trip around Bekasi using the same type of film roll. There were five of us who tried to capture Bekasi as a city that has always been changed.
Kalimalang river became our first destination. At that time, along the river, a toll road was being built as a part of a national construction project called Becakayu. Which connects the border city to East Jakarta through Bekasi-Cawang-Kampung Melayu.
The next destination brings us to the oldest Buddhist temple in Bekasi, Klenteng Hok Lay Kiong. A historical building that has been cared for generations.
For a long time, the city development has been built quite often in Bekasi, particularly in the urban area. It does bring a major change for the neighbourhood and the people who live around.
