About myself I am an artist turned architect by passion. I am a strong team player and also confident in handling things alone. I strive for perfection and punctuality in anything I venture. Enjoy challenges that get the best out of me and extremely patient to achieve the same. Experience As a part of my academic requirement in school, I got an oppurtunity to engage myself with Eskay Designs, Chennai where I was introduced to the basics of planning. The following year I got an oppurtunity to intern at Sajith & Vivek Architects, Chennai where I was taught how one goes about designing. In my 2nd semester I did a bamboo fractal workshop under the guidence of Ar. Jaffer AA Khan During my 3rd semester I got to attend a workshop based on vernacular materials at the Earth Institute, Auroville.

The Pragathi school is nested in the sylvan landscape of the beautiful Yelagiri hills, embracedby exotic greenary, This site is located at an elevation of 4100 feet from mean sea level, endowed with a natural contour with levels increasing from 1.2 to 2.4 to 3.6. Though located in an urban setting the school site is tucked away from the clutter of the busy town.

The ground floor of the academic block plan follows the principle of free flowing spaces which has a direct connection to the outdoor space blurring the boundary between outdoor and indoor and hence enhances the holistic learning for kids. The outdoor garden play area and the boundary trees act as screen for the classes from the sun in the mid day. The spaces are enhanced by connecting the classroms with courtyards.

To fit in a sense of privacy and safety the staff-room of the entire school is accomodated on the first floor of this block. in this manner the teavhers get to overlook the school. The interaction between different classes is given way by the little pockets. The parapet walls act as a semi-barrier to the surrounding natural setting of the site. The bamboo pergolas adds to the entire interior view by giving it a light roof and inviting people to interact.

This being the central space of the of the entire site it is left as transparent as possible. The atmosphere created because of its surrounding would encourage students to enjoy gaining knowledge outisde their classrooms. The gorund floor of this building is the library which looks out at the water body surrounding it with greenery native to the site. The first floor, is designed to be used as a music room and an art room. The music room being in the centre, is provided with a retractable wall which could shut out the volumes of the room.

The site is nested upon a private enclave rubbing shoulders agaisnt the golden beach sands. It so happens that the location is picture perfect shot of the most picturesque imagination of a happening cinematographer.

The spectrum of sea waves is a welcome sight to the over worked eyes and a deviation from the cacophony of urban life. The interior spaces give a new auro in accordance with the climate and the time of the day. Hence the concept was to create different levels for the requirements of the client by being able to provide a various views from the house of the sea, sky and the surrounding.

The houses are all double storeyed with level differences seen on each floor itself to differenciate its functions. The living room faces the natual setting of the site with bifolding windows to let in light and natural ventilation. The workspaces are provided in such a way that any personal clients of the artist should be able to access without any hindrance of privacy. Each individual dwelling unit defines the field of art of the client through a pattern and concept followed. 20
An artisan community which helps enrich through quality-based arts and craftmanship. The community creates engagement through arts by creating a new centre for adair park. The houses are integrated with units that include creative amenities. A flow of space within the houses and in the exterior spaces that enhances their workability and creativeness. The dwelling spaces are designed with a difference in plan but yet have certain signature elements. The exposed brick, red coloured walls, natural light and ventilation are all of the elements that make the community and environment fit for aartisans.
