Calculate the number of chipboards, and sketch it out on paper All messurements in this document are in centimeters.

Calculate the number of beams, and sketch it out on paper The structure is designed to be sustainable. This way you can save as much wood and money as possible.

Tools:

Beams

The sizes of the beams change yearly. In this situation the sizes of the beams are

Additionally there are 9 extension plates. For example, these are made from 18 mm multiplex which can often be found in the wood workshop waste bin.

Sizes: 5 x 35 x 1.8 cm

Lay the chipboards in an organised, well stacked pile, on the ground All

Making the beams frame to size. Extend the beams with the extension plates (see page 6). Screw the beams together (or also with plates e.g plywood). To ensure you give enough space for the thickness of the chipboard, place the beams 12mm inwards.

Tools:

Turn the construction around so that the beams are on the ground, and the plates face up. Tools:

Screw the sheets to the beams with (±110) 4cm screws. Make sure that the screws are no wider than 5 cm apart next to the seams, to be able to cover them with the Washi tape (see the oval illustration). The distance between the screws is approximately 20 cm. Keep in consideration the space needed for the side plates. The distance between the screws is approximately 20 cm.

Tools:

Because of the weight of the prefabricated wall you can also apply the top two panels when the wall is upright.

When the panels are screwed down, check with a putty knife that everything is at, and that the screw heads sit just below the surface of the chipboard plate

Make the side wall

Lay the custom-made chipboard on the oor and place the beams on top. Note that the chipboard is 5 cm wider than the joint frame so that the side panel will t into the space left for it in the front panel. Swap panels and beam frame so that the chipboard can be screwed into the frame.

Apply this pannel later, it can also serve as a door.

Tools: Mount the side walls to the wall

Slide the front wall against it and screw the top panels of the side wall to the beams of the frontal. Mount the bottom panels of the sidewalls or make them into a door.

Tape the seams with Washi tape

This will ensure that it will not ripple when wet wall paint is applied over it. Top tip: use a putty knife to apply the tape properly. Remove the tape when you are nished. This will have kept the screw heads clean and make them easier to remove during de-install. Good for your wallet and the environment!

Tools: Top tip: Rub the Washi tape in well with a putty knife, into the wall. Remember, The particle boards and beams can be reused!
