CYP Spotlight

Diana Ramos is currently a CYP staff member at Niko Niko Child Development Center. Diana is originally from California and has been working in the CDC for just over a year. She has had the pleasure of working with children for over 6 years and her favorite part has been watching them grow and learn new things. She loves being in Okinawa, exploring new places and new things. Literacy Wednesdays

9:30 - 10:30 am Developing Strong Skills From Early On. Here at Kadena’s Child Development Centers, we fi nd it important to help children develop strong literacy skills from early on. All registered parents are welcome. Books will be provided. Parents, please sign up in your child’s classroom.

STEM

2nd Friday of the Month Every month on the second Friday, children at the CDC will participate and explore in new STEM activities. These activities are designed to help children learn and practice their cognitive skills, which can be applied to their daily life.

Early Learning Matters (ELM Curriculum)

ELM is a 50-week program focused on the development of children in a wide-variety of ways. It encourages and strengthens the academic skills of children even in the infancy stage by breaking down 14 foundational skills into fi ve areas: communication and language, cognitive, self-regulation, social-emotional, and physical health.
