Sweating removes liquids from the body, so you need to replace them with extra fluid consumption to avoid getting dehydrated. Increase your water intake to at least 12 glasses every day to counteract the fluid loss from sweating. Make sure the water is not too cold because this can actually cause your body temperature to go up. Protect Your Skin The intense ultraviolet rays from the sun during the summer can absolutely destroy your skin if you are not careful. Use sunscreen to protect all areas of the body exposed to the sun. Your risk of skin cancer rises exponentially after every bad sunburn. It is also a good idea to try to find some shady areas to exercise to spend less time in direct sunlight. Eat Lighter Meals The hot temperatures of summer cause the body to digest food at a slower rate than normal. Since food will stay in the stomach longer, it is best to eat smaller meals when the weather gets hot. Eat four or five light meals to avoid feeling food and bloated. Head Inside There is nothing wrong with staying inside if the weather gets too hot. There are plenty of great workouts you can do indoors.
