THE PLACE CALLED
TOMORROW A DOCUMENTATION JOURNAL
THE INSPIRATION My photography piece is visually inspired by fairies, forest, and nature.
THE CONCEPT
My concept is all about dreams. I came up with this concept as I thought of what I should present here. I thought of things I wanted to do for this project, planned for it, then thought of another thing again, and planned for it again. This process continued for sometime until someone told me to go with what I do best. Then, I was sure on what I really want to do - photography.
So as for the concept, why dreams? There are just too many things I want to do, and thinking about this project makes me think of what’s ahead. TOMORROW is something, or someplace, waiting to be explored.
So that’s how I came up with the concept. My subject is supposedly in a place called TOMORROW, which I interpreted as a very dreamy place. Which is why I think my fairy concept would go so well with my tomorrow or dreams concept. And my subject, she’s there exploring the said place, waiting for something exciting to happen.
THE PREPARATION
I planned and prepared for the shoot for more than three weeks from late December last year to the first half of January. And the shoot was scheduled on January 21, 2013.
I prepared the props for the shoot.
THE SHOOT
Instead of taking shots of my subject in a storytelling way alone, I also shot this like how I shoot my previous fashion and portrait shoots. Because yes, I want to be a fashion and portrait photographer.
THE POST-PROCESSING
Programs like Adobe Lightroom 4 and Adobe Photoshop CS6 were used for the post-processing of the photos.
