ABOUT ME Love reading and travelling. Being a chinese educated, I was fortunate enough to be able to access the thousands year-old cultural heritage. I am very convinced by Lao Tzu’s philisophy in how we should think and act by following the flow of nature and embracing nature rather than conquering it. I believe architecture works the same way as design of space and place making should always grows and rooted from its tangible and intangible context. The responsibility of architecture is for humanity and its inspirations are always from the little things that we do in daily life.

Pudu Street Library Design Thesis (Year 5) This thesis focus in enhancing the experience of book browsing and reading environment by dissolving and integrating the components of public library seamlessly with the street so that it blends with the urban fabric and become part of the journey of everyday life. It explores how bookshelves can become part of the architectonic in becoming faรงade and supporting structure while remains lightweight. The robustness of the library street space is borrowed from the typical Asian street space which possessing the characteristics of private and public space and it is able to generate responses to innumerable variations with time and that is the most important quality which local library should poses in order to encourage the public to engage in reading.
INTEGRATED STRUCTURAL SYSTEM The design explores steel book shelves as vertical supporting element as well as facade for the elevation facing the LRT station. The RHS steel bookshelf forms a rigid lattice structure taking the dead loads besides books such as roof, light weight floor slab, and transferring loads down to the steel truss below. Using lattice structures, a comparatively high stiffness and load bearing resistance can be achieved while minimising material use. Besides the ability to create long spans, lattice structures are attractive and enable simple service integration.

This project explores the use of recycled building material and its techtonic while taking passive building design into comsideration.
