COVID-19

Compared to many nations Zambia has been let off quite lightly in terms of numbers regarding COVID-19. As of the beginning of April 2021 we have a total of 1,220 deaths.

This, together with no national lockdowns meant we could keep KaingU Safari Lodge open for business and maintain our team in employment. Naturally all best covid protocols have been taken in place, starting from masks, extra sanitizers and disinfection, no buffets, assigned tables and staff education and now even vaccinations.

Being a small, largely outdoor oriented lodge, crowding is not possible anyway and social distancing is easy. We have even made all activities ‘private’ – so you get your own guide for the duration of your stay and you do not have to share activities with others. However, we also must point out that a safari here is intrinsically very safe. Everything is outside and everything is spaced out. Business and visitors numbers have been down massively, but with local tourism we could manage to maintain our team through these difficult times. A negative covid test is required when entering Zambia, but there is no quarantine, and organizing tests for departure in Lusaka and Livingstone has become routine. In Zambia covid vaccinations have started in April 2021. We are looking forward to welcome you.
