We will be looking to get access to our e-magazine from our website, which also means that you can share the link with friends/family that would like to have a read also. Our Tiguan Launch was a huge success, thank you to those that were able to join us for the evening. We had 242 guests on the night, which enjoyed some great entertainment by The Apollo Theatre Company, photos and an opportunity to speak with returning Olympians amongst some unique custom designed furniture for the event by jaredjamesjackson, in which some of you will be receiving your custom made stool on delivery of your new Tiguan. PASSAT Review By Barry Syminton In late March this year I took delivery of a new Passat 206kw TSI R-Line and can report I am very pleased indeed with it.

I have been interested in cars all my life, and in the last 15years have been fortunate to own a fairly wide range of European cars – 16 in all. This included Mercedes, Audi, BMW and Porsche, varying from small saloons through large ones to mid-size SUV’S. However recently I decided a mid size saloon would best suit my current requirements, and after a lot of homework test driving, reading road reports and close inspections I decided the Passat was by far the best choice.

The most comfortable seats I have ever had. Largest boot in class (Bigger than a Porsche Macan). My experience with and respect for the Sales, Technicians and Service (If I needed) support of Tristram European. Good economy and range (7.4l/100km Extra Urban 8-900km) Summing up I am more than satisfied with all aspects of now owning the Passat and would strongly recommend it.

Key sales points were: The best value for money. Classy European look both internally and externally plus finish which compares favourably with the other brands. Outstanding driving information on the digital dashboard and an easy to use sound system. Strong Performance – quicker than a Golf GTI or BMW330. Four wheel drive. Very secure handling. Very quiet noise levels although a nice snarl when full power used.

TIGUAN Review By Barry Syminton I have recently enjoyed a comprehensive

briefing on and test drive of the new Tiguan SUV and can confidently state it is a very good vehicle indeed. First Impressions:

Striking appearance – It is longer, lower and wider, with sharp exterior styling; in particular the full length shoulder line at door handle level, and the more aggressive frontal styling. These and other features embrace Volkswagen’s new and more upmarket design philosophy. Internally it closely resembles the latest Golfs, which have always been recognised as ergonomically and visually first class. The quality of finish is up there with the other German marques.

Driving:

The Tiguan has none of the slightly cumbersome feeling of the (admittedly) mainly larger SUV’s, while it has most of their advantages. The driving position is excellent – readily adjustable, comfortable seats and good all round visibility. Back row seats have ample

room and their own air-conditioning plus sliding rear seat. The boot is well shaped and largest in class with an adjustable floor level. Instrumentation is very comprehensive, legible, easily operated, and with the more tech savvy minded an APP-CONNECT feature on all models. Parking assistance is also standard. Performance is brisk with all models – the top of the range TSI LINE with the 162Kw Golf GTi engine having virtually GTi performance with 4WD and SUV versatility. A point not mentioned previously is engines of all models have been further developed for improved performance and fuel consumption. Pricing is competitive across the range. Overall then, we have in the new Tiguan a very good looking, well finished compact SUV with greatly improved specifications and performance. Volkswagen’s statement ‘Why not settle for everything’ is well justified.

at Tristram European on Wednesday 31st August. Facelift

AMAROK The first of the V6 Facelift Amarok will

start arriving in November. With pre-sales being so strong, make sure you get in touch with us to secure yours. There is nothing else in the market yet released that will compete with the V6 Amarok and its level of spec. Anna Wilkinson & TRISTRAM EUROPEAN Duathlon Auckland and National Champs! Really happy with where my running and cycling are at the moment, proving to have developed well over the winter season and are peaking just in time for worlds this September. Placing 2nd at Auckland champs was a real confidence boost and just missing out on the podium at nationals has made me work that much harder these past couple weeks in my training.

Secondary Schools cycling individual Nationals. Individual Cycling Nationals is one of my favourite events during the school cycling year. Being right in my backyard I am lucky to be able to train on the course whenever I want. The atmosphere at this event is always great, especially in the hill climb with the older kids staying to watch the youngsters fly up the hill. I was very pleased with my 3rd place in the hill climb after having a disappointing time trial and getting stuck behind a crash in the Criterium which put me out of medal contention.
