A Message from

U.S. Ambassador Michael H. Corbin It is my pleasure to welcome you to the U.S. Pavilion at the 16th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC). This is an exciting moment for the oil and gas sector in the United Arab Emirates, a country successfully becoming a globalized economic hub for the Arab world, Indian Sub-continent, Far East and Sub-Saharan Africa. Ongoing projects to increase production levels and modernize existing infrastructure, major new gas projects such as the development of the Shah Gas Field, and the ongoing process of renewing concessions for major onshore production will generate significant new marketing opportunities for American firms. I am pleased to see that so many leading American companies are represented at this year’s event, thereby showcasing the strengths of the American petroleum industry. Over 75 American firms will participate in the U.S. pavilion at this year’s event. As the region’s foremost oil and gas event, ADIPEC presents a unique opportunity to meet the industry’s leading firms and view their latest products and services. I am confident that show visitors will appreciate the innovation and quality that are trademarks of American industry and that are on display in the U.S. Pavilion. In recognition of the prominence of the ADIPEC event in promoting petroleum sector opportunities in the Middle East region, this is the first year ADIPEC will be held one year after the last ADIPEC show, where previously it had been a biannual event. The United States and the United Arab Emirates have developed strong ties in the petroleum sector. It is my hope that through events such as ADIPEC we will deepen continued close ties in this sector. I wish all visitors a successful and profitable visit to the ADIPEC 2013 event and to our pavilion.
