CELEBNATION CROSS MEDIA PROJECT Celebnation is an interactive cross-media project which gives space to share celebrations of different religions and nations. Our goal is to create a trans-cultural communication platform that increases the tolerance between different nations living together and also opens room for personal stories and creativity. Our project consists of 3 main platforms: TV, web, and mobile.
TV: A daily tv series that consists of 1 minute long photo-animations, presenting the background and rituals of the celebration of the day in a brief and entertaining way. For that, we create a unique animation style mixing different visual materials like archive photos, paintings, graphical elements and user generated photos. We are going to use narration that explains the background and music that relates to the current celebration.
The website also gives a unique tool for the users to create fictional celebrations according to their personal taste. They can mix the visual elements of all the celebrations and design it by their own wishes. They can add date, rituals and all the details of the celebration and even create a brand new animation clip or personal postcards out of it.

On the Celebnation website you can search celebrations by place, date, and by specific tags; for example, which religion, type of historical event or natural phenomenon it is related to. You can find texts, visual materials about the historical background, the evolution of rituals, related recipes, and symbols of the celebrations.
The mobile application makes it easy to add new content and also can remind users about the ongoing and local celebrations wherever they are.
Users can add their own content on celebrations they have just had, or even some archive photos and parts of old diaries from their parents and grandparents. The uploaded materials can form a whole new series of visual projects, like interactive documentaries on the evolution of Christmas in the last 100 years, or on different ways of celebrating freedom.
