The project proposes a living archive for historical brickworks in Sittingbourne, Kent. The proposal is an alternative planning strategy for existing walking routes and infrastructures along the routes that are given form over time through a material strategy of reclamation and accumulation. There are three strategies for the proposal, the first is reviving abandoned industrial sites to reshape the town’s cultural identity; the second is to enrich the existing footpaths; additionally, using reclaimed bricks to reconnect the public with the new infrastructure and history of the town. In the past, the excavated raw materials represented what we loaned from the land, but now, the project aims to provide an alternative way to return and change the value of the land.
