MEF Extends Their Appreciation MEF Endowment Update

MEF Grants Update Since the first grant presented in 2004, there have been 114 grants awarded to teachers, community individuals or organizations for a total of $297,239.

During the past year the Endowment of the Mora Education Foundation was increased by more than $53,000 due to the $25,000 match from First Citizens National Bank, by donations in memory of Robert Gorham and Carolyn Nieboer, and by individuals wishing to give a gift that will keep on giving.

ADVERTISER, SEPTEMBER 20, 2015 - 15 SEPT. 19 WILD RICE PROCESSING The public is invited to the Mille Lacs Indian Museum and Trading Post every Saturday in September to watch museum staff process wild rice in the traditional way. They will demonstrate how to parch, thresh and winnow the wild rice. Demonstrations are free and last about 20 minutes.

SEPT. 19 ANTIQUE TRACTOR RIDE The 10th annual 34-mile tractor ride will begin and end in Ogilvie. Tractors will assemble on Main Street by 8:30 a.m. and begin the route at 8:45.

They will stop at St. Clare Living Center at 9:45 for coffee and cookies. There will be a lunch stop at Heritage Corner in Brunswick and will return to Ogilvie after lunch.

Tractors must have slowmoving vehicle sign and travel at a minimum 11 mph. No riders allowed unless an extra seat is provided. Valid driver’s license required. Not responsible for accidents.

SEPT. 19 FLY-IN/DRIVE-IN AND PANCAKE BREAKFAST The public is invited to Mora Municipal Airport (KJMR) from 8 a.m. to noon. Mora Lions Club will be serving a pancake breakfast beginning at 8 a.m. (pilots in command and classic car drivers eat free).

There will be aircraft on display, airplane rides and classic car owners are invited to bring their cars.

SEPT. 19 MORA BIKE TOUR The 35th annual Mora Bike Tour will start and end at the Vasaloppet Nordic Center with options of a 25 or 50-mile course, both starting out together.

Check in/registration opens at 7 a.m. with the tour beginning at 8. Water and food stops are located along the course.

Greg’s Bicycles of Mora will offer mobile repair to those in need.

Brats and hot dogs will be served after the ride to all tour participants. The 50-mile tour qualifies for the Mora Classic Series. Both the 25 and 50-mile tour qualifies for the Motion Series.

Job Duties Include: Providing administrative support, filing, preparing and mailing reports, scheduling meetings, coding, taking meeting minutes and providing other support services for multiple departments.

Qualifications: Para Pro Test or 2 years post HS education required. Experience working in school settings and CPI/CPR training preferred.
