SNG Services Gunsmithing & Tool Sharpening

SNG Services is a gunsmith service, licensed firearms dealer, and full-service tool sharpening shop located just south of Mora, Minnesota. Owned and operated by Kanabec County resident Shawn Paul, SNG Services is a local company with a nationwide footprint. One of a few full-time gunsmiths in Minnesota, Paul has worked in gunsmithing since the 1980s. He likens the workings of a firearm to those of a vehicle. You bring your car to a professional mechanic when the transmission needs to be rebuilt, he says; and when a firearm needs service or repair, you should seek out the same level of care and expertise. As an experienced firearms mechanic with 30 years’ experience, Paul provides a level of excellence that can’t be found many other places. Paul has a nationwide reputation, and is often consulted by firearms professionals across the country to fix and solve problems. He raised his family in the Mora area, however, and is committed to serving the community long-term. He treats customers as friends, and shows the same care for their firearms that he does for his own. Paul values his reputation and guarantees his work, believing that “if it can’t be done right it shouldn’t be done at all.” SNG Services also provides tool-sharpening services. From drill bits to lawnmower blades to scissors and knives, Paul can hone just about anything with a blade. “I can sharpen everything but your wit!” he laughs.

SNG Services • Repair and customization of firearms • Sale of new and used firearms • Consignment sales • Insurance appraisalss • Sporting goods • Ammo sales • Hunting equipment and accessories • Large in-shop inventory

If you own a gun that hasn’t been fired in a while or needs repair, bring it to SNG Services for a full cleaning, inspection, and test fire.

• Firearms transfers • Pre- and post-season cleanings and safety checks • Full line of sharpening services for home & commercial users • All work guaranteed

Come in as a Customer... Leave as a Friend! Business Hours: Mon. - Fri. 8am-5:30pm, Sat. 8am-5pm

MARLYS V. FISHER Marlys Virginia Fisher died on Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014 in Cook. She was 87 years old. She was born Marlys Virginia Esler on o June 26, 1927 in Mora to Esther and Russell R Esler, the youngest of six child dren. She was baptized and confirmed at a Grace Lutheran Church. She graduated a from Mora High School in 1945. On March 27, 1948, she was united iin marriage to William (Bill) Fisher. T Together they raised three children and w worked side by side, first in Fisher Pontiac t and later in Fisher Ford. After her husband’s death in 1982 she continued to operate Fisher Ford and was joined in the business by Bill, Jr. until 2002. While raising her children, she served as Worthy Matron of the Mora Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star in 1958-59 and was president of the America Legion Auxiliary from 1963-64. After selling her business, she moved to northern Minnesota spending her summers at her beloved cabin on the Ash River Trail. During her final illness she was lovingly cared for by the staff of the Cook Nursing Home and Rehabilitation Center. She loved spending time at her cabin on the Ash River Trail. She dearly loved her grandchildren and stepgrandchild who remember her as a great storyteller especially of her youth and when her kids were children. She loved listening to her children play piano - her favorites were the “Maple Leaf Rag,” “Claire de Lune” and the “Music Box Dancer” (which we called Grandma’s song). The angels are playing the “Music Box Dancer” in Heaven and her eyes are sparkling. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 34 years, Bill; siblings, Rusty, Dorothy (Buckley), Doris (Myhre), Delton (Buddy), Laverne (Vernie), and Ruth and granddaughter, Catherine. She is survived by children, Bill, Jr. of Orr, Elizabeth (Robert) Herbert of Kansas City, Mo. and John (Robin) Fisher of Cook; grandchildren and stepgrandchild, Virginia Herbert Kesting (Kyle), Ann Fisher, Michael Herbert, Kirk Fisher and David Herbert and many nieces and nephews, and friends, both in Mora and on the Ash River Trail. A Memorial Service will be held in Mora next spring. The family has requested contributions to the Mora Chapter of the Eastern Star, United Children’s Hospital of St. Paul or Children’s International.
