r. Timothy Vaagenes has been a practicing chiropractor for over 20 years. Most of those years have been spent in Shoreview, where he still has a practice, but the clinic in Mora, where he lives, has been open for nearly three years. Trained at Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, (now Northwestern Health Sciences University,) Dr. Vaagenes is passionate about building all-around health in his patients and treating the entire person. Many people who visit a chiropractor are looking for immediate relief from acute problems; namely back or shoulder pain. In many cases, Dr. Vaagenes is able to make that pain go away through spinal adjustments, but his goal is to do so much more. His hope is to see the person’s entire body restored to health so that the pain does not come back and he or she can live a life of vitality. He does that by addressing the pain and treating the causes of the discomfort. Oftentimes back and shoulder issues are caused by long-term physical problems or injuries that must be addressed systematically by getting on a treatment plan. With his many years of experience, Dr. Vaagenes has many tools in his belt that can be used to tailor a treatment program to restore patients to health and vigor. If you’ve had enduring back or neck pain that never seems to go away, even if you’ve tried chiropractic in the past, Timothy Vaagenes would like an opportunity to meet with you for a complimentary consultation. You can learn more about what your first

visit would be like by visiting www.Dr-VA.com and clicking on the “New Patient Center.” Weight Loss and Nutrition With its focus on the whole person, Vaagenes Chiropractic is also becoming a local authority in the area of weight loss and nutrition. Having recently lost 28 lbs. in 28 days and keeping it off for several months, Dr. Vaagenes has renewed his passion for helping patients to make that most important lifestyle decision; losing excess weight naturally and keeping it off. Working with the patients, Dr. Vaagenes helps them to develop a lifestyle plan that leads to long-term health after the extra weight has been lost. He has been trained to do nutritional counseling, interpret blood work and identify food allergies. His clinic makes use of vitamins, nutritional supplements, detoxification programs and lifestyle consulting to aid patients in achieving their goals. Vaagenes Chiropractic understands that excess weight can drag the entire body down, and that even a little bit of weight loss can often make a huge lifestyle difference. If you’re someone who has tried everything and failed, or even worse, lost weight many times just to gain it back and then some; Dr. Vaagenes would like an opportunity to help. Stop by or call Vaagenes Chiropractic to learn more about how Dr. Vaagenes and his team can help you reach your goals of losing weight and developing a healthier, more energetic lifestyle.

Join Us... for a Minimum Wage Discussion to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Kanabec Public Services Building, Mora Proposed legislation to raise the Minimum Wage to $9.50 by 2015 would make Minnesota’s one of the highest minimum wages in the nation. Minnesota’s current minimum wage is $5.25 for employees of companies that gross less than $625,000 in sales and at $6.15 for employees at larger companies. The higher federal minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. About 93,000 workers were paid at or below the federal minimum according to the Minn. Department of Labor and Industry.
