Fluegge's Ag is a family-run business in its 55th year of operation, selling and servicing farm material handling equipment. Fluegge's features a large selection of manure spreaders, mixers, hay rakes, and tedders, both new and used, and specializes in “service after the sale.” The store offers new, used, and rental equipment from more than 20 different vendors, as well as small engine repairs. Fluegge's Ag was started in 1960 by Lud Fluegge, on his dairy farm in northern Kanabec County. The business moved to Brunswick in 1972 after the farm was sold. “My dad raised me on the back end of equipment he was putting together,” said son Rod, “since I was about seven years old.” Rod started full-time with the family business in the spring of 1975, and in 1996 moved to the current location just east of Mora. He and five employees currently run the shop.
The business expanded from one product line to more than 20, and from a one-stall garage to more than 12,000 square feet of parts and service areas. Fluegge's offers inshop service, as well as on-the-farm equipment repairs. The store also features a large parts department that includes bearings, roller chains, and power take-off parts, just to name a few. Fluegge's Ag also serves the needs of “non-farm” residential customers with a line of rototillers, brush cutters, and seeding equipment. Customer satisfaction is their highest concern: as Rod stated, “We stand behind all our products – except for the manure spreaders!” Over the years, Rod said, the business has expanded from working with herds of 20 dairy cattle to farms with 3,200 animals, and their primary focus these days is dairy and beef farm management. “We've been in the business for 55 years,” Rod said,
“and just added to the shop this year. We started out as a farmstead service, working with implements that are serviced on site. We expanded to work with equipment on wheels, that could be serviced either on Rod Fluegge, Owne r the farm or here at the shop. But we're unique in that we still offer on-the-farm service. We make house calls – or 'barn calls.'” Fluegge's Ag is located east of Mora at 2040 Mahogany Road, just north of Highway 23. For quality farm material handling equipment and “service after the sale,” find them on line at flueggesag.com and call them at 320-679-2981.

Responsibilities of bridal party members B
eing asked to join a bridal party is both an honor and a responsibility. When asked to take on such significant and meaningful roles, men and women may recognize the honor but be unsure of what their responsibilities are as couples move forward with their wedding plans. Bridal party roles can vary depending on certain circumstances, but many couples still want their bridesmaids and groomsmen to perform many of the more traditional tasks associated with their roles. The following are some of the tasks bridesmaids and groomsmen can expect to perform in the months leading up to the wedding and during the wedding itself.
of the bridesmaids’ dresses. Once a dress style and color has been chosen, the maid of honor will make sure everyone is fitted on time. A maid of honor will also plan the bridal shower, sending invitations and arranging for lodging for out-of-town guests if necessary. Many brides want the details of their bridal showers to be a surprise, and maids of honor should honor those sentiments when possible. A maid of honor also plans the bachelorette party, though many brides do not mind being involved in the planning of such parties. The maid of honor may be asked to help address save-the-date cards and envelopes as well.

of the couple, whether they are a young brother or sister or a niece or nephew. The responsibilities of the flower girl and ring bearer are typically limited to the ceremony, during which they will walk down the aisle, either together or individually, before the father of the bride escorts his daughter to the altar or stage.
• Father of the bride: The father of the bride walks his daughter down the aisle during the ceremony, and, along with his wife, may pay for the wedding, though many couples now finance their own nuptials. The father of the bride will dance with his daughter during the reception, and some fathers may even share a special toast for the newlyweds during the reception, though such a toast is not traditionally required.
Bridal parties play a big role on couples’ wedding days, and those roles are both an honor and a responsibility.

What to include with wedding invitations
W
edding invitations once followed a relatively standard format that did not necessarily require much thought on the part of the grooms and brides-to-be. But many couples now take more creative approaches to their wedding invitations, using them to evoke a certain theme or to establish if the wedding will be formal or casual. But while wedding invitation designs might have become more flexible over the years, couples should still make sure to include certain information in their invitations to avoid being overwhelmed with questions from guests excited to attend the festivities. • Date and time: It may seem simple, but don’t forget to include the date and time of both the wedding and reception in the invitation. If there will be a considerable amount of time between the ceremony and the reception, you may want to include a handful of local dining suggestions so guests can grab a quick bite to eat before the cocktail hour.
• Venue information: Guests will need to know where couples are tying the knot, so be sure to include the address of the ceremony site as well as a link to its website. The address will help guests find the venue, while the website can prove an invaluable source of information about the venue, which can save couples the trouble of answering questions about the ceremony site that can more easily and quickly be answered by visiting the website.
Bridal showers are designed to equip couples with many of the necessities to start their new life together. This custom is believed to have evolved from an old dowry system, in which a bride was expected to bring valuables to the marriage. The dowry was originally intended as compensation for the
• Reception menu: Many reception halls ask that couples give them a ballpark figure as to how many of their guests will prefer each type of entrée available at the reception. Include menu options within your invitation package, ideally on your reply card, so you can easily provide this information for your vendor.
• Hotel information: Many couples arrange special room rates with nearby hotels for their wedding guests. Include the names of these hotels, directions to the hotel from all directions, directions from

burden of supporting a wife placed on the groom. Some parents of the bride were not rich enough to afford an ample dowry, so friends and family members would offer small gifts to help offset this financial responsibility. Today, both the bride and groom are equal partners in the marriage, bringing together their collective wealth. However, showers are still held regardless of the financial need of the bride as a way to offer good wishes before she embarks on her new journey.

1890s Brides to be “showered” with gifts The modern bridal shower may trace its origins back to the 1890s. “The Old Farmer’s Almanac” says the first bridal shower hostess filled a paper parasol with small presents and turned it over the head of the bride-to-be. Soon the concept caught on, and many other women began “showering” future brides in such a manner. Naturally, as presents became larger and heavier, the tradition of literally showering the bride with gifts was modified — but the name has stuck.

Advertising Policies: The publisher is not liable for slight changes or typographical errors that do not diminish the value of the advertisement. The publisher's liability for any other error is limited to crediting the advertiser for the space occupied by the advertisement materially affected by the error. For example, if there is a word missing from a classified ad (garage sale item or descriptive word), no credit will be issued. Please check to make sure your advertisement is correct. If you made a change in your ad - in text and/or scheduling, please check to make sure it is corrected. If you have cancelled an ad, please check to make sure that the advertisement has been cancelled. We cannot guarantee placement of where your ad will be within your classification.
