ONLINE AUCTIONS
Mora, MN
Independent Affiliate of K-BID Online Auction Site
www.K-Bid.com Look for Five Star Auctions Five Star Auto Sales in Mora became an affiliate of K-Bid online auctions this past February when the owners began to get requests from their clients to sell their items. Today, there are 136,000 registered bidders. “There’s a distinct advantage to online auctions and that is there is an unlimited number of people who can see and bid on your items,” said Auction Manager Matt Berry.
Matt Berry Auction Manager
Matt said they have many bidders registered within Duane Helmbrecht Minnesota and the surrounding states, but have sold Auto Sales General Manager to buyers as far away as Connecticut, Kentucky and Canada. Sellers can either bring their items to Five Star Auctions for safe storage or items can be stored at their property until they are sold. Matt works with sellers to take photos, develop accurate product descriptions, uploads items to the online auction and advertise for the auctions to ensure the maximum number of bidders view the items. You can be sure that Matt is working for you. He said that the staff at Five Star Auto Sales has learned what sort of items and what kind of descriptions encourage sales on K-Bid. If Matt thinks an item won’t do well at the auction simply because the environment isn’t right or if it could be sold for more in a different format, he is the type to say so. That type of honesty is what makes his customers loyal. “Our job is to make sure people see your items,” said Matt. “We work hard to be honest and up-front with our clients. We want customers to get more money than they expect, that way everybody’s happy.” And after an item sells at auction, the seller can expect to receive their check within two weeks of the auction closing date. The folks over at Five Star Auto Sales have sold items such as: Snowmobiles, Motorcycles, Lawn/Garden, ATVs, Boats, Trailers, Vehicles, Collectibles, Antiques, Coins, Jewelry and Real Estate.

You Better Find Out You better find out, where your soul is going. You better find out, how to enter God’s gate. You better find out, where your soul is going. You better find out today, now’s the time, before it’s too late. Jesus said I’m the way, the truth and the life. Nobody comes unto the Father. Jesus said I’m the way, the truth and the life. You must believe in me. Jesus said I’m the way, the truth and the life. Nobody comes unto the Father. Nobody comes unto the Father, but by me. You better find out. Why believe those deceivers? You better find out, the purpose the cross. You better find out. Why believe those deceivers? You better find out. Don’t follow the lost. It’s too great a cost. You better find out, that a lie can’t free you. You better find out the direction home. You better find out, that a lie can’t free you. You better find out the blessed hope and peace of God.

1,000 Point Mark
FEBRUARY 2013 www.mora.k12.mn.us
Annual Spelling Bee
On Friday, Feb. 1, Noelle became the 8th girl in Mora to hit the 1,000 point mark when she calmly sank two free throws to help the Mora girls’ basketball team to a 50-46 victory over Ogilvie. Noelle needed 28 points on the night to reach the milestone and ended up with 30 points on the night. It also capped a great week for Noelle as she was named one of eight finalist’s for the Triple A Award which will take place on March 23.
I Love to Read - Music
Mora Public Schools hosted their annual District #332 Spelling Bee, Monday, February 4, 2013. Photo is of the evenings participants from grades 5-8.
Knowledge Bowl The fourth grade students at Trailview are celebrating I Love to Read month by learning how to read music. They are practicing three songs on the classroom keyboards with different skill levels. Learning to read music will be reinforced when they receive their recorders later this month and continue their journey through the discovery of music instruments.
School-Community Connection
Mora High School Celebrates Paraprofessional Week Twenty-four fifth and sixth-graders participated in Knowledge Bowl this year at Trailview. The competition was great this year!
MHS FOCUS Proram
The FOCUS program at Mora High School proudly announces four students that earned a 3.0 or better after the completion of grades were posted for second quarter. The students are: Kristin L., Blake O., Sam C., and Ashlie C. Congratulations students on your academic achievement!
At the start of the new quarter students were greeted on Jan. 22 by members of the Mora Lions Club. Bob Woods, Dan Johnson, and Doyle Casavant congratulated students for their academic efforts for the first semester and wished them well for second semester. Students were offered a treat to show how proud the community is of their efforts.
Contemporary Art Collaboration Mrs. Pulford’s class loves to read even with the lights out!
Trailview Elementary third-graders in Challenge classes with Mrs. Gams, teamed up with dancer in residence Alison Holland to learn CHANCE dancing. They are shown here in wearable art costumes (created by high school art students) in front of the yurt displayed at the Vasaloppet Art Show. Their dance performance on Saturday at the Parish Center gave them all a 'chance' to share their creative movements with an audience of over 100 people in addition to modeling with some of the artwork on display. These activities were made possible by the voters of Minnesota. The series of events known as the Contemporary Art Collaboration made for an exciting week in the Mora schools and community. We were fortunate to work with such creative and inspiring artists as composer Paul Fraser, artist Mary Johnson and choreographer Alison Holland! We look forward to more performances by OUR young composers, dancers and artists in the future. In addition to the East Central Regional Arts Council, a BIG thanks goes to the Mora CAPP committee members and staff members who make these events a reality. Special thanks to Challenge teacher, Kelly Gams, Linda Parson, Anna Patenaude and the music department; Joan Hebeisen, Karla Dahms, Linda Anderson, KBEK, Kanabec Publications and the Kanabec Art Association for inviting us to share with the community at the recent Vasaloppet annual art show! - project director, Judy Broekemeier

The Mora School District will join school districts throughout the state to salute their local education leaders during Minnesota’s annual School Board Recognition Week February 18-22. The commemorative week is designed to recognize the contributions made by Minnesota’s school board members, including the Mora School Board, who are charged with governing public education under state law. Minnesota school board members are chosen by their communities through election or appointment to manage local schools. They oversee multimillion dollar budgets that fund education programs for more than 825,000 students in approximately 2,000 schools. Their personnel decisions affect more than 52,000 teachers and thousands of administrators and support workers. These volunteer leaders also are responsible for formulating school district policy, approving curricula, maintaining school facilities, and adhering to state and federal education law. Legal concerns and the complexities of school finance, including budgeting and taxation, require them to spend many hours in board training programs and personal study to enhance their understanding of these issues. Our deepest appreciation is extended to the dedicated men and women who make it possible for local citizens to participate in education in our community. We salute the public servants of the Mora School Board whose commitment and civic responsibility make local control of public schools in our community possible: Karen Kirschner, Chair, 12 years of service; Ethan Elvehjem, Vice Chair, 4 years of service; Debee McGovern, Clerk-Treasurer, 17 years of service; Rich Schultz, 16 years of service; Doyle Casavant, 10 years of service; and Scott Moe, 1st year of service. Please join us by saying thanks to our school board members during Minnesota’s School Board Recognition Week.
