Thanks to everyone who supported Mora Dollars for Scholars! Congratulations to the Mora High School Graduating Class of 2014! The Mora Dollars for Scholars’ Awards Night was held on May 14. Twenty-seven seniors received Mora Dollars for Scholars scholarships this year through the generous support of our local community. These students were the recipients of numerous scholarships seen in the photos. We graciously thank two new Memorial Scholarships this year, which include the Judy Belt Memorial Scholarship and the Chester Belkholm Memorial Scholarship. Mora Dollars for Scholars scholarships have been awarded to Mora High School seniors since the committee was founded in 1988, and in the past 26 years Mora Dollars for Scholars has awarded 842 scholarships totaling $904,050. The support and generosity of Mora citizens and businesses have allowed Mora Dollars for Scholars to give scholarships to help fund Mora High School students with the cost of higher education. Students who receive these scholarships are selected based on their scholastic performance, ACT test results, community and school involvement, work experience, an applicant appraisal, unusual circumstances, and a goals and aspiration essay. Thank you for your generous donations and continued support. Contributions may be made at any time and are tax-deductible. Donations may be mailed to Mora Dollars for Scholars, Box 422, Mora MN 55051 or completed online at www.mora.dollarsforscholars.org.

On Memorial Day we pay tribute to those who fought and died in battle for our great country. Let us never forget them.

All the news you need to know - right here in black and white!

As we pause to remember on this special day, we pray that God’s comforting hand will touch those who have died for our country. And we say a special prayer for the families who are still unsure of the fates of their loved ones... those Americans missing in action.
