Vaagenes Chiropractic Clinic

l Care and Treatment for Every a u d i v i d n I l a n o i s s Age Profe The Vaagenes Chiropractic Center is your number one stop for wellness. Here we treat more than just neck and back injuries. We treat injuries from auto accidents, workers’ comp, provide adjustments, realignments, improve muscle balance and will treat creaking knees or popping ankles. Dr. Timothy Vaagenes opened the Chiropractic Center in Mora two years ago after his patient base in Mora grew and patients began to carpool to his practice in Shoreview. This dedication and willing to drive so far demonstrates the loyalty his patients have for his care—and for good reason. Dr. Vaagenes graduated from the Northwestern College of Chiropractic after four years of undergraduate coursework and five years of chiropractic education. Dr. Vaagenes is also certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners, the principal testing agency for the chiropractic profession. Dr. Vaagenes will work with patients to determine the treatment plan that works best for them, whether it is a one time realignment or a series of adjustments and exercises to compliment your wellness plan. For over 20 years Dr. Vaagenes has been practicing chiropractic care, during which he has treated patients of all ages from newborn babies no more than a few hours old, to adults over 100 years of age. Spinal alignments can be very beneficial to new mothers and their babies. The birthing process can put a lot of stress on both the mother and the baby. “Think of birth,” said Dr. Vaagenes. “As a baby is being born the doctor is pulling on the babies head and neck, sometimes with as much as 75 pounds of force.” This can cause stress and misalignment at the top of the spine. Gentle adjustments soon after birth or as they grow can help babies who are colicky, overly fussy or suffer from ear infections. This is because misalignment in the spine can put pressure on the nerves that connect to all of your body’s functions affecting overall health.

Dr. Timothy Vaagenes

20+ Years of Health Care Knowledge and Experience

Birth can be equally traumatic for the mother. During pregnancy and birth hormones are released which loosen the ligaments of the body helping the pelvis and other parts of the body to expand and accommodate a growing child. After pregnancy, Dr. Vaagenes said sometimes hips and parts of the spine need a little help getting back into place. Vaagenes Chiropractic Center also offers nutritional consultations to compliment your healthy lifestyle. They offer help such as simple nutritional suggestions, blood work interpretaton, body cleansing, weight loss plans and food sensitivity testing to list just a few. Stop by or call Vaagenes Chiropractic Clinics for a free consultation to see if chiropractic care is right for you.

20 - ADVERTISER, NOVEMBER 25, 2012

Fundraiser for Dollars for Scholars begins Beginning Friday, Nov. 23 community members will have the opportunity to purchase gourmet ground coffee (12 oz. bags) to support Mora Dollars for Scholars. Greater Minnesota Credit Union, Kanabec State Bank and Peoples National Bank

will all be purchase sites. There will be three varieties of coffee to choose from. The fundraiser will help to expand and support educational opportunities for Mora High School graduates. Seeking Lucia Candidates The Dala Heritage Society is seeking candidates for St. Lu-

cia. Every December the Dala Heritage Society celebrates the Swedish tradition of St. Lucia and selects a young woman who will represent the Society for one year as their St. Lucia. Current Lucia Alexis Geving will crown the new Lucia 2013 at the Dala Heritage Society’s Lucia Celebration on Saturday evening, Dec. 15.

Any area young women, ages 14-17, who have an interest in Scandinavian heritage and culture are welcome to apply. Applications are available at the high school offices in Mora, Ogilvie and Braham schools, or by contacting Betsy Hoppe at 320-272-0033. Applications must be turned in by Friday, Dec. 7.

Eligible members will see a bold blue line on their next billing statement that says, “Capital Credits Refund,” designating the amount of their refund. The bill will be reduced by the amount shown on this line. As a cooperative, ECE operates on an at-cost basis by annually allocating to each member, based on their kilowatt-hour use, operating revenue remaining at the end of the year. These allocated amounts are called Capital Credits. They are allocated in a way that retains working capital for the cooperative while also reflecting the members’ ownership in their co-op. Each year, the board of directors determines if there will be a refund, and if so, what portion of a member’s Capital Credits can be refunded. The Capital Credits refund is based on the total amount a member paid for electricity. Members of ECE for more than one year will receive a Capital Credits refund. Members who have moved off the ECE system may receive a Capital Credits refund check, which will be mailed to the address ECE has on file. Former members should call ECE, 1-800254-7944, if they believe the co-op does not have their current address. East Central Energy www.eastcentralenergy.com is a memberowned electric cooperative that serves more than 57,000 homes, farms and businesses in east central Minnesota and northwestern Wisconsin. ECE provides electricity and high-speed Internet, as well as community and business development and environmental services.
