Hope Comes Alive Here LIVING H PE CHURCH

L vin Hope Church is full of amazing testimonies! Pastor Steve says, “Our church is full of broken Living Livi people peop pe p that God is restoring including myself. This past year we have seen people healed of many diseases dis isea and sickness. We believe in divine healing and we believe in praying for people who are sick. sick ck God is answering our prayers! We have seen seven people healed of cancer this year. Every week them.” wee we are praying with the sick and we are seeing God heal m.” Not N only is God healing people, he’s transforming people from om the th he inside out as people place their trust in Jesus Christ, devote ote their th he life to following his ways, and sharing their story with th others. Pastor Steve says, “Living Hope is full of stories. God’s ot d’s love lo is transforming lives and making new creations out of people’s old rotten past. Each week I encourage people too p sshare their story with others because when God transforms ourr life, answers our prayers, or heals our body it releases hope h ho oop ope p in int into hopeless eless ssituations ions aand people realize if God did it for them he can do it for me. Those stories become the bridge to sharing about God’s story of redemption. Here are a few of myy friends that God transformed this past year.”

Christy’s Story… If I had known then what I know now, I could have saved myself much pain. In 2009 I was planning plan anning my February uary wedding when I woke up one day with an agonizing pain running down my right leg. After weeks of sleepless nights and hundreds of shed tears I was finally told why. I had herniated two disks in my lower back and I needed surgery. Life was good until 2011. I re-injured my back that led to more pain and two more surgeries. The result put me into a wheelchair and my life dramatically changed for the worse. Around that time, I ran into a lifelong friend who invited me to her church. I figured it couldn’t hurt. Little did I know what God had in store for me. Within months of giving my life over to God, people praying with me, He healed me so I no longer need a wheelchair and I’m walking. Walking! Something I thought I would never do again. Since then God continued to heal my body to the point I can even do a little dance in worship to Him. And it’s not only me, but He’s healed my family. We all can tell a story of his great love for us. My friend may have guided me to Living Hope Church but it is by Christ alone that I am able to stand and tell you that by Him and Him alone you can be healed of whatever ails you. Tom’s Story… Growing up I never went to church. I grew up in a family where we worked every day. Throughout my life, I carried this same idea. Around a year ago, my home life took a drastic change. I was at a crossroads. One morning after showing up for work, I shared with one of my co-workers who also is a great friend of mine, all of my pain I have been going through. This man, a believer in Jesus, sat with me a listened to my story. He said it was time to turn my problems to the Lord and let Him help me. He had and m rch h and told me I should go seee and mentioned a church in Mora with a pastor who used to be at his church v the church that night. visit That night they showed a Billy Graham special and God used itt to change my life. It all started with the message and almost evv everything that Pastor Steve was saying seemed to be m meant for me. He prayed for people that night. Especially those who smoked cigarettes and wanted to be free from them. Wa Walking out of the church, there was something different in me. Afh night, h I never touched h d another h cigarette again. The problems I was having worked out in a way I would d ter that never have imagined. My life turned a total 360 with God in my life. My attitude about so many different thingss changed, my days are much brighter, my outcome much larger, and my eyes are now open. April’s Story… I always believed in a “higher power” but never related it to God. It was something I never er ys understood and I was able to get along just fine without God. Sure, I dealt with what was handed to me, but I always ng off 2013 I felt there was something missing, a hole, an empty space that I was never able to fill or figure out. In the spring f lt a desire d i to t go tto church. h h W h I went through a rough time where my life was being torn apart and everything I tried for help failed me, but I felt When went I thought, “What are people going to think of me; I don’t go to church, and people who go to church are weird and they have no fun.” I think God whacked me upside the head, because the church was the opposite of what I thought. During my visit I gave myself permission to let God into my life. Then His love, His presence, and His people came into my life. That day He started the restoration process! I wouldn’t change anything about my journey; my imperfections are what got me to this place in life, not to mention my ability to find a place for God’s help. Yes, I have a tendency to take a wrong turn here and there, but I love to worship now; praising God is one of the best feelings one could have. I feel His presence. God has enabled me to live in peace, a peace I can only explain as being carefree and exceptionally easy-going without worrying what comes next. I have an excitement about tomorrow because I’ve learned to focus on God, not me. God deserves all the credit for where I am today. No one could ever tell me I needed to go to church, or even speak of religion around me to get me interested, but when I encountered God’s love through Jesus, His church, and His people I’m forever changed!
