WE’RE HERE ALL YEAR For most folks, heading into fall doesn’t seem like tax season; but the dedicated professionals at Mora’s H&R Block want you to know that they’re here all year as your local tax professionals. H&R Block especially wants you to know that if you’ve received a letter from the IRS or from the state of Minnesota, you don’t have to face these tax issues alone. Make an appointment today to go through your taxes with a professional and figure out what needs to be done to make things right. Fall is also a good time to bring in your previous years’ returns to have H&R Block’s professionals take a second look to see if anything was missed on your returns. It gives H&R Block’s staff great pleasure when they are able to get additional money back for their clients.
INTERNATIONAL FIRM LOCAL PEOPLE H&R Block is a Kansas City-based company that was started in 1955 by Henry and Richard Bloch. The firm, which quickly rose to become one of the world’s largest tax preparation companies, has had a local franchise office in Mora since 1994. With over 50 years of experience as a tax preparation company and a huge international footprint, H&R Block has the resources to provide world-class service to the residents of East Central Minnesota. On the other hand, as a local franchise, the Mora, Cambridge and Princeton H&R Block offices treat clients as family and provide very personal and individualized service.
NEVER SETTLE FOR LESS The team at H&R Block hopes that you would never settle for less in the area of tax preparation. • Never Settle for Less Service: H&R Block offers a high level of customer service in a low-pressure environment. Local staff is committed to the idea that if a customer is unhappy with the service, they can leave with their tax documents. • Never Settle for Less Quality: H&R Block stands behind the quality of their work, and as one of the world’s largest tax preparation companies, they are able to provide top-of-the-line services and tools to get the job done right for their clients. • Never Settle for Less Expertise: Your local H&R Block office has several tax preparers who go through extensive training to be accepted as a tax preparer. They are also required to take continuing education each year in order to keep their knowledge current and stay registered with the IRS. • Never Settle for Less Money Back: H&R Block offers a “Maximum Refund Guarantee” which means that if you or another preparer ever find something that H&R Block missed on your tax refund; or if the government sends you additional money on your refund, H&R Block will refund your fees. H&R Block is committed to getting back the largest possible return for its customers. • Additional Services: H&R Block provides a number of additional services that you may not be aware of. • “Peace of Mind” Extended Service Plan – For a small fee you can purchase a plan that gives you extra confidence when filing your taxes. If you owe additional taxes because of an error on their part, H&R block will pay the bill up to $5,000. • The Emerald Prepaid MasterCard: a debit card that you can load money onto and use at all places that accept credit cards. The Emerald Card can be obtained at an H&R Block office. • Tax Audit Support: As an H&R Block customer, if you are ever audited, H&R Block is on your side. From the time you receive an IRS notice to when the audit is resolved; you can depend on H&R Block to stand by your side. • Paying a professional to handle your tax return will often result in hundreds of dollars in additional refund money versus doing it at home. If you’ve been struggling with your own taxes year after year, consider H&R Block for your tax needs. You can get to know the team at H&R Block right now by stopping by to get a “Second Look Review.” Their tax professionals would love to take a look at your most recent returns to see if they can find you some additional return money that was missed on a previous year.
H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard® When you get your taxes prepared at an H&R Block tax office, you can put your tax refund or refund anticipation check directly on an Emerald Card and use it everywhere Debit MasterCard® cards are accepted. It can help you save money and avoid expensive check-cashing fees. Plus, you'll get NEW cash rewards loaded instantly* on your Emerald Card for making everyday purchases at stores like Best Buy, Target, Dunkin' Donuts, and iTunes. Simply watch your inbox for new reward offers every week from participating merchants like these and more. Be sure to ask your tax professional how to take advantage of this great offer and for fee and term details. * Rewards are usually instant but may take up to 48 hours. Merchants/Offers vary. The H&R Block Emerald Prepaid MasterCard is issued by H&R Block Bank, a Federal Savings Bank, Member FDIC, pursuant to a license from MasterCard International Incorporated. Additional fees, terms and conditions apply. MasterCard is a registered trademark of MasterCard International Incorporated. Not available at all locations and to all applicants. Consult your cardholder agreement for details on fees, terms and conditions. ©2012 HRB Tax Group, Inc.
BECAUSE MISSED DEDUCTIONS DON’T FIND THEMSELVES. If you didn’t use H&R Block, bring in your return for a FREE Second Look® Review. We can uncover differences which may lead to bigger refunds. We’ll look back up to three years. Bring in your 2010, 2011 and 2012 returns for a Second Look today.
At participating offices. Results vary. All tax situations are different. Fees apply if you have us file a corrected or amended return. The IRS alows taxpayers to amend returns from the previous three tax years to claim additional refunds to which they are entitled. ©2013 HRB Tax Group, Inc.

LAVONNE L. ROLF LaVonne Lillian Rolf of Mora died on Thursday, Nov. 28, 2013 at St. Clare’s Living Community, following a courageous fight with cancer. She was 62 years old. She was born Jan. 29, 1951 at Milaca to Ralph and Lillian Unger. She was the second of 12 siblings. She attended several schools in the area and spent some of her teen years attending North Branch High School, while being a nanny for the Ziesmer family. She moved home for her senior year of high school, graduating from Ogilvie High School in 1969. Following graduation, she spent several years working in the Twin Cities. She moved back to the Mora area and was employed at Amoco for several years. Some of her best memories from that time occurred when meeting with friends at the Sportsmen’s Café after work. Following her marriage in 1977, she was blessed with the birth of her son, Michael in 1979 and her daughter, Amber in 1984. She attended Pine Technical College intending to become a machinist but soon changed her career path to the health care field. She was employed for many years at Sunshine Villa, Brighter
Day and Augustana Senior Development. She loved caring for the elderly; and even during her illness, continued to hope that she would become well enough to go back to the work. She had a talent for painting and drawing animals and wildlife. Some of those paintings graced the walls of her parents’ and grandparents’ homes. She also enjoyed watching birds at the feeder. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and always had a pot of coffee ready to share with her visitors. Her kindness was measureless. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and grandmother. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her father; brother, Gary and nephew, Clinton Felde. She is survived by mother, Lillian of Ogilvie; son, Michael (Angie) of Mora; daughter, Amber (Ernest) of Jordan; grandchildren, Lily, Charlie and Ava Rolf of Mora; brothers, Ron (Sherry) of Ogilve, Bret (Jeanette) of Wahkon and Bart (Becky) of Onamia; sisters, Valerie Donovan of Washington, Virginia Japp (Gregg) of Mora, LuAnn Unger of Tennessee, Anita Unger of Wayzata, April Unger of Milaca, Stacy Unger of Milaca, Rhonda (Jim) Norton of Hinckley and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 13, 2013 at Akkerman – Ingebrand Chapel. Rev Bob DeYoung will officiate. Memorial Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Condolences may be posted to www.aifuneralhome.com.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF CAROL CARRIE HENDERSON WHO PASSED AWAY DEC. 13, 2004 We often think of the days gone by, when we were all together; A shadow o’er life is cast, a loved one gone forever. As we loved her, so we miss her; in our memory she is near; Loved, remembered, longed for always, bringing many a silent tear. Sadly missed by sisters, Donna and Marge
