THANK YOU Thank you so much to all of you who helped at my wife Donna Nelson’s funeral, from being a part of it, to a condolence. We appreciate and love you all!

THANK YOU Thank you, thank you to my wife Lorrie, daughters, Annette and Kim, who put together my 80th birthday party Saturday, Dec. 12 at the American Legion. Thank you to Deacon Gene and Darlene Biever, all my kinfolk, friends, the Martin Family Live band and Legion staff. It was amazing. God bless everyone and Merry Christmas. Iver Peterson

IN LOVING MEMORY OF

CAROL CARRIE HENDERSON Eleven years have gone by We often think of the days gone by, When we were all together; A shadow o’er life is cast, A loved one gone forever. As we loved her, so we miss her; In our memory she is near, Loved, remembered, longed for always, Bringing many a silent tear. Sadly missed by, Sisters Margery Pavek, and Donna Mae Johnson

ALLEN L. AMSDEN Allen Lee Amsden died on Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015. He was 84 years old. He was born in Aberdeen, S.D. on June 16, 1931. He graduated from Lakeville High School and then joined the U.S. Air Force. He was a flight instructor, a comm mercial pilot with multi-engine and in instrument ratings and thousands of h hours of fl ight time. He was a mechanic aat Northwest Airlines and an air traffic ccontroller at the Minneapolis Air Route T Traffic Control Center in Farmington. H He was the airport manager at Mora M Municipal Airport and the airport m manager at the Cambridge Municipal A Airport. He also worked for the FAA. He was the crew chief (chief mecchanic) on the RB36 “Peacemaker,” tthe largest mass-produced piston eengine aircraft ever made, stationed at E Ellsworth Air Force Base in Souix Falls, N.D. and Puerto Rico. He was preceded in death by sister, Corrine Jahnke of Cornell, Wis. and parents, Lester and Jean Amsden of Orchard Lake. He is survived by wife, Latana Harris of Mora; son, James (Tracie) Amsden; two grandchildren and nephews, Robin Jahnke and David Jahnke. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2016 at the Vasaloppet building in Mora from 1 - 3:30 p.m.

CASEY W. HANSON Casey William Hanson died on Saturday, Nov. 7, 2015. He was 32 years old. He was born on May 7, 1983 to Renee and Peter Hanson in Mora, the third of four children. He grew up a free spirit, always ready to explore and learn new things. He was often a pain to older siblings, Cristy and Josh and playmate and protector to baby sis, Britteny. At age 3 his family bought a farm by Henriette on Mud Creek - the best playground for a little guy and his siblings. He spent hours fishing, swimming, frog hunting, ice skating and sledding with friends and cousins. He was always trying to make people laugh by saying or doing something silly to change the mood. One time in the car Mom and Dad were talking about family characteristics and how funny the gene pool can turn out. Fouryear-old Casey, listening in the back seat said, “Yeah, I have lots of jeans. They’re at home in my drawer.” Music was one of his passions. He was self-taught on the guitar, drums and harmonica. Not only was he talented, but he had a heart of gold and helped others any way he could. In 1999 he started CLH Floor Covering with carpet, vinyl and hardwood floors both locally and in the Metro. He worked there until his death. He was united in marriage to Lydia Heggy on June 1, 2001. To this union two daughters were born, Jayden Clorese on June 4, 2002 and Lillian Skyy on June 8, 2007. He will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by daughter, Lillian Skyy Hanson; grandparents, Stan and Donna Hanson and Coral Peckels. He is survived by daughter, Jaden Hanson; parents, Peter and Renee Hanson; brother, Josh (Trisa) Hanson and sisters, Cristina (Ryan) Hanson and Brittney (Jake) Lowthian.

When the Family Circle is Broken at Christmas During this holiday season, a time of joy for most of us, our thoughts turn to the families of our community who are facing their first Christmas without someone they loved. We know many of them, and maybe you do, too. Or you may remember a year when you yourself dreaded the holidays because a death during the year had broken your family circle. As funeral service professionals, we know that grief is especially hard to bear during the holidays. The thoughtful gesture of a compassionate friend can mean a lot to a bereaved individual or family. Caring about someone, and letting them know you care, is the essence of the Christmas spirit.
