DESIGN BRIEF

Cultural & Community Centers and such multifunctional spaces play a vital role in a peaceful and value based growth of a town and it’s inhabitants. They offer opportunities to embrace the history and culture of the area and bring the community together using this common bond.

Navraspur is a quaint spot surrounded by cultivated plots of ground and forests of prickly pear. The old fort, palaces and other heaps of ruins evoke memories of the past. The Navraspur festival featuring the maestros of Indian music is held here every year in February. However due to lack of ancillary support infrastructure, services, activities, added with the draught like conditions, this singular grand cultural event too has faced a stopper for a few years now. The aim has always been to help keep this Historic Cultural Centre alive and boosting with tourists of various cultures sharing their intangible heritage within these piles of beautiful ruins.

Site is located in navaraspura, facing the monument sangeet mahal. Vision of this cultural center is To design and conceive a Cultural & Community center that will integrate its presence & functions with that of the Sangeet Mahal each amplifying the use, experience and impact of each other in not just Bijapur but in a much larger cultural perspective.
