The chiacchiere is a typical Italian dessert that is prepared for the carnival holiday

They are crunchy and delicate fried sheets and are called with different names depending on the Italian regions of origin.

Flour 500 g

Their rectangular shape makes chiacchiere unique and attracts the palates of adults and children

Preparing them is very simple and will allow you to have enough for one week.

Ingredients:

Baking powder for desserts 6 g

Sugar 70g

Vanilla pod 1

Butter 50 g

Yolks 1

Eggs 3

Salt to 1 pinch

To prepare THECHIACCHIERE, add flour together with the baking powder and pour it into a planetary mixer. Add the sugar, the salt, the yolk.

Process until the ingredients are well blended

Then add the seeds of the vanilla bean and the butter and continue to knead for 15 minutes until a homogeneous mixture is obtained

Wrap the dough in cling film and let it rest at room temperature for at least 30minutes. After this time, take a portion and roll it out well with a rolling pin.

Now start bringing the oil to fry the dough to a temperature of 150-160°

With a wheel, proceed to make rectangles of about 5x10cm and make two central cuts on each one.

As soon as the oil has reached the right temperature, dip2-3rectangles of puff pastry with the help of a slotted spoon and cook them, turning them on both sides until they are golden brown. When all are ready let them cool and sprinkle sugar on top to complete.

In Italy, chiacchiere are eaten dipped in melted dark chocolate to make them even better
