Nordic Studio-Sodertalje Canal M.Sc. Urbanism Studies The Sodertälje Canal is a historical canal whose edges are in much need of improvement. As part of the Nordic studio, I, along with my colleagues, worked on the project thinking of simple, implementable solutions in different points along the canal. We made a SWOT analysis for each of the chosen spots and tried to work with the existing context. We believe that the solutions we have provided may well be implemented with minor changes, because they are relatively low-cost improvements to the existing conditions.
Thesis project-Library 2.0 B. Arch. Final year The aim of this thesis project is to examine the purpose and meaning of a library as it has existed until today and to explore the possible ways in which it can be changed for the better. The library here is looked at as something that is a universal need and even though it needs to respond to the context, the major concern is to look at it in a broader perspective. What the library originally intended was to be a repository of knowledge. It’s main tool was the book. But now that books have invaded the computers, ipads and iphones of people, the library as a space has become obsolete. Internet has changed the way the world works. What we need now is not only a place to read, but also a space to learn holistically. What is most needed in a library today is not books but a library of spaces that people can use. It is one of the few places that to a certain extent have maintained the ‘democratic’ character that should be there in public spaces in an urban setting. The library today is more a ‘resource’ centre than just a place for a collection of books.
Advanced Urbanism Studio - Östermalmstorg M.Sc. Urbanism Studies In In the Advanced Urban Design studio, we worked on a masterplan that encompassed the areas along the metro line from Universitetet to Varberg. It was primarily focused on improving public spaces in these areas by studying and understanding the unique nature of these places. I along with my collegues worked on Östermalmstorg, an area where we found the challenges to be poor pedestrian/cyclist/traffic conditions given its importance within the city. What I present here is only the part of Östermalmstorg in analysis and proposal.
Mixed Use Development Project B.Arch. Final year Our aim was to study a particular area thoroughly, undestand how it works and propose an architectural change in the existing fabric. It wasn’t a soluion to a problem, but rather an experiment to understand what would be the impact of such a change in an existing urban fabric. The area given to us (a team of two), was the area of Besant Nagar in Chennai. It was a two-kilometer stretch adjoining the beach mainly consisting of residential buildings. After studying the area by various means, our proposal was to build a mixed use residential tower, and free up ground space for more public use.
Professional project 2017-18 Working on the field in both an Urban Design firm (JanaUSP) , and Archaid Architects has given me an immense learning of how things work in the real world. At both places, I had the opportunity work a lot on site, interacting with contractors and builders and overseeing construction. As Archaid Architects was a small office of one senior and two juniors, in addition to client meetings and site visits, I also had the responsibility of preparing the ‘bill of quantities(BOQs)’, surveying sites, checking the bills handed over by the contractors, preparing and issuing drawings to site. I also worked on details, electrical and plumbing drawings with the help of consultants.

I worked on Mr. JP’s residence when the con- Electrical drawings struction was half-way. However, I took over the full control of the project, detailing plans, providing instructions on site, checking bills and quantities, giving electrical, plumbing drawings and slab details. I have included here all drawings I did as part of the project with the basic sketchup model and site photographs. 4'-0"
