I chose this building because of the linear them it represents. I like how everything is modern and I like how the windows and entrances have different shapes using linear theme. I like the shapes incorporated squares, pentagons and triangles. I like the unique shape it is. The main aspect of this building is how modern and how unique a building can be.

Here are 4 simple structures based on the live photo being at the top of the radiator which I really needed to be creative . All the designs have been inspired by the shape and outline of goal posts, they have been expanded and all idea are unique or an improved version . All models have been reused from one using my creativity. I really like simplistic design concepts due to them fitting in with its surroundings easier .

Here is a basic model I have constructed by using a radiator a live photo to try to gain ideas that work with my theme being linear. I have made a simple structure but have expanded the ideas. I like how simple and elegant the models are and how adding more pieces changes the model completely. I have shown my thought process which led me to my model I have taken inspiration from the football pitches and made basic models

Thees set of images are of a model made of leftover card from my previous models. Based on the idea of linear form, this model has allowed me to be more creative whilst not going overboard.

I really like the simple yet developed model from using previous parts

After looking into the site, I understand that a possible reason why it is unsuccessful is since it is hidden by neighbouring buildings and signs. A simple solution is to bring the building forward 1.5m erasing the public space that is initially there which I initially was going to do and move the space on sides of my building

Due to the scale of my project, I have left a lot of space around the sides of my building this is because of ease of access and possible emergencies disabled access and just a place to be able to walkaround for staff and for customers who would like to take a break from the game centre. I want to design area for games outside and a peaceful walkway for people who just want to take a break. I think it would be great to have a mixture of game inside and outside to create a variety of things to do. What will be challenging going forward is allocating space as there are a lot of parts involved whilst considering disability access and making them feel included. My site is in the centre of collier row an area which has only recently started to develop further a design like this may be a little out of place with surrounding area.

I have decided that I will reduce the area in which my structure will be placed in, this is because I need to consider things like aesthetic, safety, informative. I need to make my structure welcoming, I could do this by placing trees, benches, free parking posters. I also need to consider evacuation circumstances for any circumstances also it gives a sense of relief to parents.

I have further developed my initial idea by adding more pieces and have made it 2 floors as I feel like it would fit in with its surrounding more. I have extended it to make use of my space.

Due to the idea of reducing the area of my structure, there is a rather large area available. My initial idea was to make it an area outside to take a break, there are benches to sit and relax without being seen in public stand out to appeal people walking past, an idea is giving it a further floor however I feel like it may make the building feel intimidating, so I need to find another way. Next, I plan to make some models based on the idea above, so I can find a more definitive form and incorporate it in my site.

After careful consideration I have concluded that the rectangular area will be transformed into a separate building and contain games like pool, football table game and air hockey. This will also be included inside the building in a bigger space, but this will also be available. I have experimented in the design; I love the concept of climbing a ladder to access the second floor and the pole to come back down due to it being unusual

I have decided to focus on the layout around the building I am trying to create a diversity in gaming so not just online but physical games that can be enjoyed outside, due to me leaving space purposely I will now need to incorporate ideas on what the layout could be. I believe the best way to approach the design Is to remember my linear theme and incorporate it in designs.

Using the concept in my site I have concluded that although I am trying to engage people in a diversity of gaming during certain seasons for example during the summer outside areas will be very popular and overpopulated. Whilst in winter indoor areas will be more popular. To further develop and improve the concept I would incorporate outdoor heating in the winter and air conditioning in the summer. During the night I would like to have night lights for aesthetic purposes. Whilst incorporating these ideas I must understand that adding many features may make my project look over complicated and not fit in with the local area.

I have realized that my design ideas are developed however I haven't considered what the material could be I need to research. These are all alternatives for concrete which have more positive economical contribution, however during research I initially liked aschrete, however I have uncovered that it has an increase chance of health risk since it is derived from coal because coal contains high amount of toxins and heavy metals that are potentially dangerous even in its raw form, due to this I will not be using ashcrete. Another material I have researched as steel however I don’t feel it fits my design well. The best material I think is concrete however it is unfriendly to the environment after taking it into account I will still use it as I feel like it suits it best

These are a range of drawings based on the horizontal grains on a piece of wood I have envisioned almost a stair like structure. I have showed my intension clearly on the images Presented of how I have formed my ideas to achieve a further developed model. Although it is an interesting model I feel like my space for my building doesn’t work well with the surroundings, so I will need to think about that moving forward.
