Badminton
Once again Badminton has been a successful sport at Karamu. We entered four girls’ and two boys’ teams playing in the Inter-School Competition. We are in a phase of rebuilding our strength in badminton with a high number of new players taking up the sport. Games are played at multiple venues each week – some were home games, while other teams headed off to Napier or Havelock or Flaxmere to face their opponents. Our returning players of B grade have consolidated the skills learnt over a number of years and were a formidable force against other teams. The newer players in the C and D grades learnt the basics of the game and by the end of their competition were starting to show a number of skills to find the win.
