The aim of the task was to establish relationship with the voids left between the two sides of the railway line, remodeling the urban space and inspiring a new urban vitality in the downtown of São Paulo (currently a very degradated area). The north side of the railway was disorderly occupied by a clothing fair and at the south side there was an ancient building that used to be the railway station.

In order to integrate the both sides of the railway, was proposed a lowered square and a suspended railway station to extol its importance in the history of the São Paulo city. In addition, the restoration of the old train station was proposed a Cultural and Sports Center to adress the population’s need for leisure, since São Paulo locks these tyoe of structures. The occupation of the clothing fair was turned into a Commercial Center, to regularize its stores, and a Hotel to host visitors (mainly merchants) from other cities.

Hotel To supply the large number of visitors attending the Commercial Center it was necessary to propose a Hotel.

Train Station Should become the main urban mobility access to the site, also representing the “rescue” of the original identity in São Paulo’s Historic Centre

Cultural Center Taking advantage of the ancient Train Station building design, the cultural center was implemented to show the history of this place

Accessible Residence Publication in Architecture Magazine| 2013

Adressing the challenge of designing a Accessible Residence for a young familly that lives in a dynamic city such as SĂŁo Paulo , and constrasting with the lack of urban infrastructure in most Brazilian cities, the project aims to show that people with physical disabilities can live with quality only with a few adaptations.

The house concept was basically to create two concrete wall with punctual supports and some opennings for natural lighting. The program was divided in four levels in which all of them uses ramps as a definition of vertical circulation.

Beginning with the lower floor, the natural difference of the terrain gives the oportunity to make a covered car entrance. The access to the house can be through an external ramp or by the entrance from the street at the highest part of the terrain which leads to the Ground Floor. It consists on a large Living Room, a Kitchen, a Service Area and a Backyard.

An intermediate level was created due to the length of the ramp it was designed an office that leads to the second part of the ramp forming a volume in the facade of the building. Getting to the second level of the house, there are two Bedrooms and a common Bathroom.

Trindade’s P lanning Internship Program with Paraty City Hall Partnership| 2014

The goal of the project was to improve the quality of life of the residents of the community of Trindade – Rio de

Janeiro. This seaside community is a tourist spot for visitors from all over Brazil. Disordely growth and illegal occupation were all subjects of discussion throughout the development of the project.

The main proposed interventions were:

• Improvement of the main street • Proposal of a service road • Sewer and Water treatment • Limited Entrance Parking • Bus Terminal • Cultural Area • Beach Access

Starting from a limited space of the main street and the study of flow between cars, buses, trucks, bicycles and pedestrians a one way street was proposed for a better circulation and safety of the people. It was also proposed a system of

rainwater collection and sewage collection network.

The one way street was also a mean of ending huge traffic jams usually caused by trucks that entry the

community to supply supermarkets, restaurants and hotels.

Therefore the Service Road was created to make sure that the flow of trucks, cars and buses continues without limiting or blocking their entrance into the community.

In order to better control (and limit) the entrance of visitors, it was created a parking with limited number of parking spaces.

The access of bus was also controlled by designing a bus terminal for the circular line and chartered buses.

Trindade was from the beginning inhabited by fishermen after many territorial disputs. In order to rescue this cultural heritage and to show the history of the community it was designed a cultural center for the visitors and a space of leisure for residents.

Enviromental Control Center Designed by PROGEN for TKCSA| 2016

The main objective of this project was to show to the visitors/ clients the care that this company has with the preservation of the environment. Our client requested a building that shows a 3D model of all of their production buildings and their support buildings, as well as a video room to present the history of the company and how they reuse and recycle their products.

Besides that, it was designed a suspended control room which shows to the visitors and clients everything that happens at the site instantly. The building was designed between two concrete walls with vertical garden and different levels connected by ramps to give visibility to the 3D model . The control room was suspended over a water pond that reminds the logo of the company.
