Recycling also involves the extras that Scrap Recycling Companies have to Deal with Metals once picked up from the scrap yards in Dubai, needs to be cleaned; detached from the rest of the parts that they are usually attached to and then quality analysis and segregation process begins.

Metal recyclers in Dubai have been doing their best for the planet by reducing the large piles of metal scrap of various forms that are available in the numerous scrap yards of Dubai. Being a scrap metal recycling company in Dubai comes with a lot of responsibilities; both in terms of government restrictions and the environment. For instance, one cannot simply pick up an appliance and then pull out what they need and then dump the rest. There needs to be a well-structured system set in place for either recycling or sourcing the remaining materials to other recyclers who deal with them. Most metals found in the scrap yards are not in the cleanest and most pristine state, ready to be bundled up as raw materials for use in manufacturing. Metals once picked up, needs to be cleaned; detached from the rest of the parts that they are usually attached to and then the quality analysis and segregation process begins. A lot of manpower is usually involved during segregation which still remains a mandatory manual process. However, it is the initial dismantling part that is an even more resource-intensive problem. This process can be more time consuming depending on the objects and metals that a recycling company will be taking in for recycling.

Take a car for instance, an average car that seats a family of four will contain about a few 100 kilograms of steel or aluminium depending on how old the car is. Next comes in the copper which can bring in anywhere between 40-60 kilograms of copper scrap via the wiring, motors, contacts and the radiator. The problem that exists here is the costs involved. It simply takes up many man hours to disassemble all of these parts.

This alone can be expensive and could lead to reduced profits; depending on how quickly these cars can be broken down and how much metal can be extracted; which would vary from model to model. The first step is a dubious one thanks to the loads of plastic (dash board); textile material (seats, inlays); rubber insulation (door panels and windows) and the glass which needs to be discarded; after which the car gets stripped of its most valuable parts. What is more annoying is that scrap metal recyclers will also need to segregate those, which will again need more resources. Does all of this add up to the value of the metals in the car? Thankfully the answer is yes and this is simply because car manufacturers saw the issue with the car pile-up and years ago commenced more environmentally friendly designs by introducing parts that were made up of similar metals and parts that can be disassembled easily.

Sadly though this can only be said in terms of some objects that utilize metals which can be sold as scrap metals in Dubai. As for the rest, so far, it is all about shredding, processing and then separating elements from each other which is currently—although not good environmentally—the only way to recycle them.
