FOX RIVER VALLEYIllinois Enjoy a wilderness retreat in the Fox River Valley. Here you will find many trails that follow the Fox River for any level of hiker. Be sure to stop by the Trolley Museum to view hundreds of years worth of classic trains and take a three-mile ride in one! Another staple of the Fox River Valley is their farm dinners that are sourced and served on a local farm. Drive up to one of the few remaining outdoor theaters in the United States for a double feature at a great price!


CRYSTAL LAKE Illinois Crystal Lake is a charming downtown with lots of appeals. It features a great downtown shopping district and dining options for any appetite. Take some time to spend on the beaches surrounding the lake or enjoy a picnic at one of their picnic areas. There are also hiking trails, fishing and water sports available. Crystal Lake is also home to many arts centers for musical and artistic enjoyment.

INDIANA DUNES The Indiana Dunes stretch for 15 miles along the lovely Lake Michigan. They feature beautiful sandy beaches and over 70 miles of hiking and biking trails. There are many charming Bed and Breakfast options for weekend stays as well as campgrounds for an RV stay. The downtown area of the Indiana Dunes houses many great dining and shopping options as well as seasonal festivals and summer markets.

RED ARROW COUNTRY, MI

A journey along the Red Arrow Highway is a great way to spend a weekend. Many opportunities abound on this road that parallels the Lake Michigan shore. Red Arrow Highway offers many different places for beach access. Be sure to visit the Galien River County Park for great views and beautiful autumn hiking along their canopy walk. There are many wineries and other waterfront dining options to enjoy.


ROCKFORD ILLINOIS Rockford is a great suburban escape from Chicago. Here you will find great museums to visit such as the Discovery Center Museum and the Rockford Art Museum. At the art museum, you will be able to see one of the top Japanese gardens in North America. Rock’n’Roll enthusiasts can find some great spots to celebrate this genre of music. Bings Drive-in is a great place to relive childhood memories with drive-up service and a classic menu of burgers and malt shakes.


STARVED ROCK STATE PARK, IL This beautiful state park was voted as the #1 attraction in Illinois! This state park with free entry offers many options for fishing boating and other enjoyments on the Illinois River. Come at the right time of year to catch a view of their beautiful waterfalls. Stay at their lodge for a relaxing stay or rent a cabin for more people.
