CRIME VICTIM SPECIALIST
A Crime Victim Specialist, also called a victim advocate, focuses on the relational aspects of an active investigation. These specialists advocate for the fundamental rights of the victims of a criminal act as well as educating them on further safety and assisting them with daily tasks and scheduling. They often are the ones who offer one-on-one emotional support to these people.

IRS CRIMINAL INVESTIGATOR
A criminal investigator for the IRS works to investigate and prevent potential violations of the internal revenue code. They work directly with the Internal Revenue System to ensure compliance and confidence with and in the U.S. tax system. These important criminal justice professionals are considered forensic accountants. This position is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants to combine their love for analytical and numerical data with their passion for the criminal justice system.

A criminologist is a sociologist who focuses on studying the cause, effect and social impact of crimes and criminals. They work to figure out the “why?� behind the crime by carefully analyzing all of the data associated with it. This work is used to help determine ways to predict and prevent crime. Most of the work done by criminologists is in an office or a lab, but some is completed in the field as well. CUSTOMS AGENT A Customs Agent is responsible for protecting and securing the U.S. border. In doing so, they are working to prevent terrorists, illegal immigrants, drugs, weapons or anything else that could be threatening from entering the country. This job includes functions such as patrolling the physical borders of the country, monitoring traffic at international airports or shipping ports and then processing and seizing contraband and violators.

PROBATE COURT INVESTIGATOR An exciting possible position for someone with a criminal justice degree is a Probate Court Investigator. These investigators are responsible for thoroughly researching and analyzing anyone who is looking to take responsibility for someone else’s life. This most commonly includes those looking to foster or adopt but can also include those seeking to care for an elderly relative.
