A. Introduction

SMM, short form for Safe Management Measures is a series of precautionary steps to ensure that everyone stays COVID-safe while being in the same place.

SMM is important, as we need to take Responsibility of our well-being and protect the people around us from COVID-19 virus. In order to do this, each one of us has to do our part by adopting safe distancing, practising good hygiene and putting on a mask at all times when we are in the school.

B. Safe Management Measures (SMM)

I should demonstrate leadership qualities such as Integrity, Responsibility, and Confidence. I need to practise SMM at all times and stand up to unsafe behaviours by advising students who commit unsafe behaviours and reminding them on the safety measures.

As a prefect / monitor, I must be a good role model and practise the SMM such as:  Keeping a 1-metre safe distance when I speak to someone or when I am in a queue;  Practising good hygiene such as washing or sanitising my hands frequently;  Carrying out the 4-step Clean Up Wipe Down routine (CUWD) diligently in the classrooms, special rooms and canteen;  Wearing my mask or face shield correctly at all times, except while eating and during Physical Education (PE) lessons; and  Not sharing food or drinks with my peers.

I am required to:  remind my peers on SMM in the classrooms, special rooms, canteen or when the class is moving from one venue to another, for e.g. to keep a 1-metre safe distance from one another;  remind my peers to do the 4-step Clean Up Wipe Down routine (CUWD) in classrooms, special rooms and canteen;  remind my peers to clean the learning resources we have used such as PE equipment and music instruments and art materials;  remind my peers to wear their masks or face shields correctly at all times; and  inform my Form Teachers when the wipe down paper towels and cleaning solution in the classrooms, special rooms and canteen are running out.
