The Hugster The Hugster is the coil that keeps the cycle going. The Hugster’s location frames the exisiting dormitories as well as the Beacon and the Hugster. It is located at the edge of a cliff so you have the option to be alone with nature or you can socialize with students and faculty that come to grab a bite.
The Beacon The Beacon function as a light house which can be seen from Hudson River and Riverdale avenue. On the east side of the tower there is a green wall that connects back to the landscape. If you are ever lost you only need to look up and follow the faint glow which will lead you to The Beacon.
The Mangnet The purpose of the Magnet is to attract Residents and Commuters to interact by displaying art from students and faculty on an orange wall that can be seen through the elevation. You can go to the third floor to take the bridge to the beacon.
Master Section
Midnight across the river of water and asphalt Midnight across Hudson River and Riverside Avenue Midnight upon my sailors and explorers Look passed the green haze of trees and grey fog clouds Follow the faint eerie light let it be your Beacon Let that light guide you pass the forest of green cotton trees. To the Magnet where art is displayed for everyone to see. Go to the Meadow under the bridge See the sight of the valley that frames the view of the Hudson River Just when you think your journey is done, stand upon the embrace of the Hugster Where there are no such thing as strangers THE MAGNET, THE BEACON and THE HUGSTER WELCOME YOU TO OUR MOUNT SAINT VINCENT

Bridge from St. Nicholas Park to Harlem School of the Arts
13
We choose to modify the existing Harlem School of the Art. We found that the art programs were seperate, and believed that there should interact. To solve this issue we created mezzanine, with openings in the wall, so that students and teacher can truly interact. We also modified that the “Brutalist“ elevation so that the community can be encouraged to participate. And if you ever need to grab a bit you are just a bridge or a ramp away from Harlem School of the Arts Restaurant!!!

Connection between St. Nicholas and Harlem School of the Arts
“Harlem School Festival The leaves are returning to the trees. With vibrant greens & slight oranges Fresh green spikes covering the ground. Let the students decorate the rock wall Just as our ancestors decorated The caves of Lascaux. It is time for the students to dance around the trees, While the musicians awakens the sun. It is time for our writers to be inspired by such performance. It is time to plant seeds so that it can be harvested during the fall. You see Winter is gone and Spring is now here So lets take the bridge to St. Nicholas Park. Let the lessons be taught by nature.

This is a two family house in one. Mr. and Mrs Maxwell Family own the whole house but rented the space to three botanist majors. The Maxwell Family live on the South end of the house and the students live on the North side. Mrs. Maxwell and her daughter, works in the children library and the botanist get to work on green roof. Both houses have an atrium which allows them to step outside and enjoy gresh air also both the family and student can take the spiral stairs to go to the green roof.
Elevation View
“Anna and Annie Anna the student spends most of her time in the library studing and completing her assignments. Annie the chid spends most of her time at home playing with her toys in the yard. When the weekend comes Anna and Annie take the spiral stairs to the green house. Annie the child helps Anna maintain the garden, in return Anna teaches Annie everything she knows about plants.

Convent Natatorium
24
Taking inspiration from Cranbrook Natatorium I decided to leave a void in the center of the building so that you can over look the pool just like you can over look the curved landscape. I also made the facade brick because I wanted the building to relate to context and the curve of the building to hug the curve of the landcape. I realized that there are alot of schools, which means students and parents, in this area will have an opprtunity to learn how to swim. To make this possible I created a series of program such as stores, restaurants and gym, which would allow for the pool to be public.

Water Study
30
We wanted to see how water errodes land. We decided to conduct a small scale experiment in which we created an apparatus which kept the dirt in and the water out.We saw how the water erode the dirt as it pass through it. Diagram A is the extraction from Diagram B.
Done in Collaboration with Simit Christain Water/Soil Experiment
Diagram A
Soil Study
Diagram B is the part in which the water traveled through the soil. We poured water at the center of the apparatus and saw the process in which the water effected the soil. The top left is the are being effected as the water is poured and the bottom left is the water leaving the apparatus.

Cranbrook Natatorium
32
Done in Collaboration with Simit Christain Architect:Tod Williams and Billie Tsien
We were given Precedent Studies made by Tod Williams and Billie Tsien. The pool deck has a celestial moment created by the two oculi that are on the roof. These oculi are able to open and close which allows for light and air to be controlled. This structure also became an extension to a pre-existing gymnasium shown in the after Cranbroook Diagram to the right

Diagram 2
In this project we were given the site of 128 street and Convent Avenue. We had to build a house for six adolescent. I wanted this place to represent a bridge to their future.I created this arch like structure that dug into the landscape like a shovel and connected the land with the architecture. The Diagram shown above shows the body, the tool in motion, in motion which inspired “Garden Shelter

Weather Station In this project Iwanted to create architecture that revolves around the sun. I decided to incorporate plates which would also adjust to the sun. Every plate would have a sensor at the very edge to follow the sun’s path. It would eventaully spin 360 at the end of the year. Every second of everyday the plates would be in a different position. (Fun Fact:On your birthday it would be in certain orientation.) This device would measure the intensity of the sun and scientist would be able to record the findings. The data would then be saved.and used in the future

Plan
The concept of this project was to emulate a maze in which it seems there is no way out. In retrospect there is a way out but it is through the unthinkable small spaces. The elevation and the first section shows that it has no passsage way. The second section shows the small spaces in which a person would have to maneuver in order to leave this maze. The axonometric shows a person would maneuver.
