What is Art Club?

Art Club is
where you can relax, have lunch, talk to your friends, and make super cool projects! It’s where you can work as a team to make really nice projects for the school.
Where does it happen?

We meet in the gym in
Marianne’s office once a week every Tuesday. There are about 5 kids that come every week.

One of the first projects we did
was decorate the school podium. We put duct tape on it in cool patterns. We decided as a group how it should look. We also painted it a lighter green to make it brighter.
This fun, new caterpillar was entered in a contest for the Eric Carle Museum. We took recycled objects and put them in huge, clear, plastic bags. We also got some old shoes that everyone brought in to use for the feet. We put black cardboard cylinders under the bags to hold up the caterpillar. Plastic soda bottles were used for the legs to hold the shoes onto the caterpillar. They were taped to the shoes so they would stay on. We were happy, proud and excited at the end of the project. It took a long time to finish!
This is another interesting project called a mosaic. What is a mosaic? A mosaic is a project where we took glass pieces and glued them onto a thick, black cardboard. We made up our own patterns. I decided to make mine with a mirror. This was a little hard for me because it took a while to figure out the pattern I wanted.

Art club is FUN AND EXCITING!!! I look
forward to going to Art Club every week.
