The Story Of The Library Murals By Veda, Linden, and Tessa

! Weʼve looked at the murals many times and always wondered how it was made and that itʼs so amazing to see it every time I walk into the library. I love the way the murals make the library stand out . Itʼs like the murals have there own story, and thatʼs this one. The fist time we saw the murals was in second grade and, we didnʼt really pay attention to them but now is the first time we have really looked at them and noticed things we hadnʼt before. The part of the library that has the murals looks like an art museum, thanks to Lindsay Palermo. She is the artist that made the murals. Each mural took at least two days. To make the murals, she painted on wallpaper, then used wallpaper paste to stick them onto the wall. Without the murals, the library looked dull and lifeless. One of the things that inspired Lindsay to make the murals was the things that the grades were studying. For example, first grade studied pond life, the second grade was studying ocean life, the third grade was studying weather and night sky, fourth grade studied endangered animals, and fifth grade studied animals in their habitats. And thatʼs when the story started...

(VEDA)

“My favorite mural is the night sky, because its so beautiful to look at, and it reminds me of the night sky it self.”

(TESSA) “I love the endangered animals, because I love animals...”

(LINDEN) “I personally disagree. My favorite one is the animals in their habitats, because theyʼre all so cute. By the way, itʼs the best mural yet.”

(VEDA)

“Eh, whatever...”

(LINDEN) “Come on guys, weʼll be late for computer lab!” (TESSA)

“I wonder why they made the mural?”

(VEDA)

“I wonder who made it?”

As we were walking down the hall to the Computer Lab, we stopped to talk to our librarian, Ms.Wells. (TESSA) “Hi Ms.Wells.” (Ms.WELLS) “Hi.” (LINDEN) “He were just on our way to the Computer Lab, but we were wondering if you knew how the murals were made and who made them?” (Ms. WELLS) “As a matter of fact I do. The murals were made by a fantastic artist named Lindsay Palermo.” (TESSA)

“But, why were they made?”

(Ms. WELLS) “Hold on, iʼm getting to that part! Any way, Lindsay started to make them because Ms. Gravina asked her to paint in the library because it looked dull, and lifeless.” (TESSA)

“Wow, thatʼs so cool.”

(LINDEN)

“You think itʼs cool that it was dull and lifeless?”

(TESSA)

“Thats not what I meant.”

(Ms.WELLS) “Anyway, thatʼs not even the half of it. Lindsay even made the murals on wallpaper. Then used wallpaper paste to put it up. She also based the murals on the social study projects that each class did from first grade to sixth grade.

(LINDEN) “Now, thatʼs cool!” (TESSA) “Whatever.” (VEDA)

“Thatʼs awesome, but we need to get to Computer Lab, we are already 15 minutes late.”
