Viewfinder Eyepiece The viewfinder eyepiece is a small window on the camera which you look through in order to compose your photo and establish focus on a subject. When shooting using a viewfinder, external light is reduced. This allows you to put full attention on the subject right before your eyes, which in turn makes it easier to track moving subjects.

Dioptric Adjustment Knob Use this knob to adjust the clarity of the viewfinder image according to your eyesight. To do so, turn the knob while looking through the viewfinder.

Live View Shooting/ Movie Shooting Switch Use this button to turn on or turn off the Live View function. Pressing the button once displays the Live View image on the LCD monitor, and the camera is ready for Live View shooting.

Extra equipment! A drone is a machine that can fly and take picture from different angles and hights.

A monopod is a one-legged support for a camera

Colour temperature is typically recorded in kelvin, the unit of absolute temperature. Cool colours like blue and white generally have colour temperatures over 7000K, while warmer colours like red and orange lie around the 2000K mark.

Digital film

Film is cheaper than digital making them a better investment than dig- Who would use this type of ital for starter photographers. They take better pictures than digital cameras? cameras. Video recorders The disadvantages of fil photography are that film storage takes up a Starters photographers lot of physical space, purchasing and developing film is expensive, film must be developed in a lab or dark room which means bad photos would be a waste of money. In digital film photography it has a larger format which means that the light that falls on the sensors have a lot more ground to cover. This means that if a photograph was taken in the dark there would be a lot of noise on the screen

Other Cameras!!

An ideal travel camera is lightweight that’s because it is versatile, and captures great images. Mirrorless interchangeable-lens cameras have big sensors and are more compact than Hand held devices such as smartphones are really easy to use, this is because their small and easy to take around. And unlike an actual camera they are light, which is also useful. They take pictures in good quality depending on their version. And they store them as Jpeg’s. However depending on the condition the picture is taken in by the phone, it An action camera or action-cam is a digital camera designed for recording action while being immersed in it. Action cameras are therefore typically compact and rugged, and waterproof at surface-level.

Different types of Cameras?!?! Compact cameras: sometimes they are also called point-and-shoot were the first camera’s. Mirror less: These cameras are new hybrids which started appearing in 2008. Digital single lens Reflex camera: are the next wave of camera which are still used to the present day by some photographers Large format cameras: are to any imaging format of 4×5 inches or larger. Medium format camera: applies to film and digital cameras that record images on media larger than 24 by 36 mm

Lightining!

For natural light an overcast day is good for natural light photography because the cloud cover acts as a natural diffuser.

A flash is a device used in photography producing a flash of artificial light will help illuminate a scene. A major purpose of a flash is to illuminate a dark scene. Other uses are capturing quickly moving objects or changing the quality of light

Studio lighting is when the back light either lights up the backdrop or background or is used on the back of the subject. It’s often aiming to creating an overview of classic three-point lighting setup used in portrait photography.

More Functions!

An image sensor detects and converts information used to make an image. The aperture stop of a photographic lens can be adjusted to control the amount of light reaching the film or image sensor. This can be in sync with variations of shutter speed, the aperture size will adjust the film's or image sensor's degree of exposure to light

Reflectors in photography is an improvised or specialised reflective surface used to redirect light towards a given subject or scene. Many digital cameras include an Auto Exposure Bracketing (AEB) option. When AEB is chosen. The camera automatically takes three or more shots, each photo is at a different exposure. Auto Exposure Bracketing is very useful for capturing high contrast scenes.

Techniques Hand-held cameras or hand-held shooting is a filmmaking and video production technique this is when a camera is held in the person’s hands rather than being mounted on a tripod or on a base Correct exposure means your combination of settings between apertures, shutter speed and ISO speed have produced a perfectly exposed image. This is when nothing is blown out or lost in shadow in an image. This is when you know a picture has achieved correct exposure An underexposed image is a photograph that is considered to be too dark. And shows very little detail, only the brightest parts are easy to make out by the person looking at it.

Exporting and storing of files Storing- to store data on a hard drive you need to get the data on to a computer. This can be done by using things such cloud storages. Or external devices such a memory sticks. Once the data is on to a computer. You can save it on the hard drive, in a file you can find it. By pressing “Save To save data on external devices such as memory stick, you need to connect it to device for example a computer. This will allow information to be transferred to the memory stick, then you drag the file from the computer, and transfer it to the memory stick. And wait until it has been saved on to the memory stick. And after that you can eject the memory stick out the computer. To save data on the cloud, what you need to do is select the data you wish to save. After that you need to select the cloud app you wish to save it on, and create a place where you can find it. Then click save and the wanted data will be save onto the cloud. Lossless and lossy compression are terms that describe whether or not, in the compression of a file, all original data can be recovered when the file is uncompressed. With lossless compression, every single bit of data that was originally in the file remains after the file is uncompressed

An image that is brighter than it should be is overexposed. When too much light is allowed during exposure, the result is an overly bright photograph.

High-dynamic-range imaging is a technique used in imaging and in photography to reproduce a greater dynamic range of lighting than usual with standard digital imaging or photographic techniques .

Recording in still means the camera isn’t moving. So that means the camera is stationary. To record in high definition depends on your camera itself. If it allows you to record in definition you can usually select it or it already does it. High definition mean the quality is of a high standard.

File formatting is the way u store data, for example Jpeg, Raw and TIF are examples of ways data can be saved. The way images are formatted are into these formats so they can be saved and stored.

Exporting files.

You can transfer files form digital camera to smartphones, depending on the version of the camera. For example you can transfer data from a digital camera to a smartphone by Bluetooth, but this can most commonly be done on a latest version of camera. For those that don’t have this, you can transfer data onto a computer, using a USB cable then plug in your phone into the camera using its charger. Then transfer the data onto your smartphone. To transfer files from a smartphone to a computer, you would need to connect the phone to the computer via phone cable. Then you would need to select the desired information you wish to transfer, and then transfer them to your computer. To upload files from a computer to a hard drive you would need to select the data you want to save, for example word and then you press save and you save the wanted data. This then saves the wanted data onto the hard drive of the computer.

Image manipulation

To remove unwanted material in a picture all you would need to do is, choose what you want to get rid of. For example the outside of a picture. You would select “Crop and then get rid of the unwanted background. to be more precise you can use the magic wond tool.

To compress an image save your file as a JPEG for example. Then compress the file between 60% and 80% as an example. Then use the photo view to determine the percentage of your wanted compression. The higher the percentage the better the quality of the photo. To convert an image from a normal image into a photoshop file all you need to do is paste your image in your wanted size canvas. Then you go to save. And it will be coverted to a photoshop file. To resize with the crop tool, select it from the toolbox. To get the crop tool to resize your image, you can change the drop down menu at the top of the screen from Ratio to W x H x Resolution. With this you can crop and resize all at once by changing the resolution and dimensions,

Digital camera

In digital photography, the image sensor format is the shape and size of the image sensor which is found on the camera which can come in different sizes. The image sensor format of a digital camera determines the angle of view of a particular lens when used with a particular sensor. The size of a sensor is often expressed as optical format in inches or in milometers. The advantages of digital cameras are that the memory cards are small however the they can store a lot of images. You can change the film speed between photos. You can edit the photos on the camera Who would use the type of cameras? Starter photographers Professional photographers
