Project: Haus HMH Location: Bad Durheim, Germany Clients: Herr Haller Mayr and Frau Haller In-charged process: Stage 2 (Concept Design) - Stage 4 (Technical Design), including meeting and discussing project detail with contractor. Status: Construction Stage Duration: 2014 Oct - undergoing. According to traditional Chinese philosophy, the meaning of ‘void’ is opposite to its western conception. Instead of perceiving the void as a negative space of emptiness, Chinese philosophy sees everything as arising from it: ‘Not-having is superior to having’ This project explores: i)Different types of the void formation brings skylight as the space relaxation agent in order to gives an expression of the possibilities of spiritual luxuries based on the principle of free plan culture. ii)Living space fludility related to the circulation manipulation based on the of principle of depth of field,also, view guiding by void space framing.

Project: RIVOLI Watch Retail Location: Dubai Clients: Rivoli Group (http://www.rivoligroup.com/about-rivoli-group/) In-charged process: Stage 2 (Concept Design - Rendering) Status: Concept Proposal Stage Duration: 1 month,2014 Jun - July Since 1987, Rivoli, the flagship concept of the Rivoli Group, has been recognised as the leading wrist watch and accessories store in UAE, Qatar, Bahrain and Oman. The idea behind the design is that to bring in the cosmos concept of how space could potentially oblige the viewer to become sensitive to the continuous processes of cognition and imagination, instinct and dream, sensation and inference, by which the mind constructs the world.

Project: Off-grid structure based Haller System Location: “Off-Grid Building Envelope”,Stuttgart University Co-llaboration partner: Taichi Kuma Year: 2013/2014 Status: Conceptual/Installation Haller grid system had been implemented on Mini,Midi and Maxi type of buildings since the past period.Midi type however, in grid, developed a typical module for truss, joint, slab, ceiling and facade system due to the limitation of piping system. Joint system, undoubtedly,plays an important role in connecting trusses,columns and piping which set to be our main concern that probably could change the whole grid system into a more flexible system depends on the boundary condition of site.As a result, new beam joint system created within the same module of Haller system,in which, a more off-grid and parametrical controlled way.

Standard connectors had been used in Haller Midi joint system in order to connect four directional beams perpendicularly.Their height is 106(cm) and each of them sided 10(cm) in both wide and length. b. Reserved spaces for piping system Piping system plays important role in Haller Midi system which demonstrated joint also took into consideration that reserved standard spaces for them. Dimension of 20(cm) would be the standard diameter and length for water piping and electricity cables in horizontal and vertical way.

domains included 20(cm)diameter for piping system, 24(cm)radius for connectors placement,38(cm)radius for reserved spaces for beams. This proposal of joint plate allows multi direction connection with beams and flexibly be used due to different boundary condition of sites.

A. Original joint system The 4 connectors(10 x10)each had been designed by Haller in order to join with installing beams.However,with the observation that the fixed position of connectors only can perform “grid type�of structural way but cannot be flexibly rotated due to boundary condition of variety sites.

B. Proposed joint system In order to achieve a certain domain for flexible rotating beams with different angles,joint plate redesigned into certain domains according to the original joint plate.These Strategy for additional beams plugged in

Final stage Complete proposed joint system finished assembly and connected with upper joint plate 3. Max amount additional beams(upper) = 3 Max amount base beams(lower) = 3

Project: PengHu Salt Spa(ce) Awarded 1)Graduate Architecture Award 2012 shortlisted Top 25 2)The 5+2 Environmental Art Design Contest of China 2012, Gold Medal 3)International Intelligent Green Design Building Competition 2012,Taiwan,Sliver Award 4)”Orientation”International Student Design Competition 2012,Taiwan,Top 20 Location: FCU, Taichung, Taiwan Year: 2011/2012 Status: Conceptual/Installation Due to the observation of water lack in Penghu island, Taiwan which is caused by the crucial weather and topography condition, health care became a serious matter to Penghu residents since long time ago.The target of design is to invoke all the people including visitors and local government to Penghu of the awareness of water lack and health issue by plugging-in a water factory in between High way and Old Dam way in order to produce fresh water into water reservoir, whereas the discharged brine recollected and reused in interior space.

Disappearing Landscape - “The spiral water factory” - By using Multi-stage distillation(MSF) as water desalination process that distills sea water by flashing a portion of the water into steam in multiple stages of what are essentially countercurrent heat exhangers.

Disappearing Space - “Salt Spa(ce)�- provides various spas such as salt floating therapy, salt halotherapy, Steam spa which are hybrided with water factory in order to provide a new experience of space sensation for visitors.

Back to nature- From time to time,from the accumulation of salt crystal to space diminished, by considering the space can be continued, there is a strategy of dissolving the salt crystal back to the sea, to show that how importantly architectural material could be used in a great sustainable way.


Project: Swarm Emotion Honoured 1)Selected to be exhibited in Taipei Design Convention 2010 2)Selected to be proposed at ShuiNan hall, temporary exhibition/installation Collaboration project with Yu Hong-Chiu Tutor: Shih Yuan-Wang Location: FCU, Taichung, Taiwan Year: 2011/2012 Status: Conceptual/Installation The background of our group work is to focus on the “digital chain”- the digital workflow from the concept to the production.We are trying to use Rhino + Script(Monkey) as our main design tool.Moreover, the goal is to develop a parameterized “swarm topological field”, to deal with a large amount of data and materials, to minimize the interface in between computer and machine in order to produce some prototypes by using different digital fabrication tool. There are few walkways decided by the shadows’ orientation which will allow/attract people to enter in it. Also, from these walkways, we hope that the typography of column can show its own emotion of shadow due to different daytime presented in a field circumstance. Images are the perspective view of emotion by using Ecotect software and also, final model prototyping by laser cutting.
