Welcome in tutorial of Frosted Ornament! I made it especially for Creative Christmas Calendar 2012. As You can see – I used stamps from 3rd Eye – all are designed by me :) Hope You like them! Best regards! – Drycha PS: Riikka – thank You so much for inviting me for this project!
You need: – transparency foil – stamps – permanent ink for non porous surfaces – scissors or craft knife – thick needle – adhesive tape – jewelery line – beads – ruler
You also need isosceles triangle similar to this one on the photo, cut out of cardboard.
Time for drawing a template! Draw it on paper. Follow instructions>>>
Here's example of template for Your ornament. Top and bottom with the same number of triangles, Some leafs to bonding.
Here's example of ornament with 4 sides. I made it with smaller triangle than for ornament with 3sides. Just add one triangle at the top and bottom.
Score transparency foil with needle. It will be more comfortable if You stick foil to paper or table eg with washi tape. Score each line.
Cut out the template.
Time for stamping! I used StazOn Opaque „White cotton” but You can use any permanent ink for non porous surfaces. With stamp „TES-016 El Bahia” I stamped each piece separately 'cause I wanted equal horizontal design on each side. I cover other pieces with paper.
Don't move stamp on transparency foil.
Don't stamp leaves. Thay will be less visible without pattern. You can use washi tape to cover them during stamping. For second ornament I used TES-023 „meadow stamp.
Don't use glue for that... Usual craft glue is bad for project with transparency foil. Hot glue is problematic too for that project. Adhesive tape will be fast and easy.
You need to do hanger. I used transparent jewelery line and beads. Follow instructions on picture on the right.
Almost done! Now just fold ornament inserting hanging. Bead at the bottom hold ornament, beads from the top are for decoration.
You can put inside other beads, confetti or candies. :) That ornament can be lil' gift pack too :)
Thanks for watching! –
