SELECTED PROJECTS
BOSTON HOUSING We need to fight back for our cities. Housing policy of last decades led us to a phenomenon called urban sprawl, which becomes major threat to our cities. We should bring life back to the downtowns by offering new quality of affordable residential housing. Boston downtown will have to face a number of challenges in upcoming decades if it doesn't chal want to lose its attractiveness. Reaction on urban sprawl and bringing people back to the city should become a focus point for all municipal housing polices. vt
The project joins advantages given by three major city typologies - single-family house which leaves its inhabitants privacy and independence, city quarter - which creates inner public space of the structure and residential towers which give the possibility to rise density on the area and create a visible urban dominant.

SCHOOL AMONG THE TREES The primary school is a special place for kids - it’s not only the time they spend on scheduled learning classes, but the games they play, which help the imagination grows and became an invitation to discover the world and gain knowledge. All forms of additional activities are as much important as classes itself, because thanks to them kids are learning about relationships and the socialising process goes more fluently. The very important aspect is also an ecological education and contact with nature, which is unfortunately very minor in big cities. Our idea is based on retaining existing, wild vegetation and filling the gaps in with the flowing shape. Thanks to that the trees determined the final form of the building, with its spaces and border lines.

The organic scheme of polygons on which the layout is based, is not only ductile, but functional as well, and freely covers the in-between spaces. That allows to create green patios, classrooms and passages. One of the significant aspects of the project is also letting the natural light into the classrooms and workshop areas from both sides. What is more, each of them has the access to external deck or patio. The scale of the whole project strongly refers to the ‘human-scale’ and dividing into pieces along witch infiltration with nature helps the wide-spread facilities to be read as dispersed settlement. Nearby the entry hall the gastronomy point is located with eating area and spaces which can be independently used after school hours in such purpose as music rooms, art workshops or library. Thanks to that, a part of the school building can be used as a local community and sport centre.

HOUSE FOR A HUMAN BEING WE WERE ANIMALS, and vast unlimited space used to be our homes. We laid down to sleep where night caught us, and got fed where we found nourishment. Instinct kept us from danger, and instead of borders we had territory. It all has changed once we found out conciseness, and started to abstract thinking. Since that crucial moment human nature is in unceasing conflict between two polarized elements of our 'Ego’- this first — primil instinct which leads us to survive and use the existing landscape in harmonic way and second — abstract element which constantly geometrizate and convert our space trying to make it functional with borders defined by planes of walls and ceilings. We stand on the border between our own rules and those conferred to us by nature, but in spite our differences we still sleep, eat, have sex, rest, move as our ancestors did. As once ran the fleeing food - so today we run the fleeing bus. House is a bridge between our primary and present expectation towards space. We used to wander in order to please our basic needs. Today we are able to compress space required and assign a requi specific task to its elements.
We live between civilization and nature. It may be the reason we want to be alone and around people equally. Equally we desire activeness and stoic calmness. Wisdom and stupidity. Triviality, and the complexities of human intelligence. Instinct and mind. We are not able to mute any of those two natures. Both are parts of us as our arms or legs. That is why space that we live in has to meet the need of two contradicted natures — intuitive and abstract. We should live at home that offers both, free from frames and meaning contact with nature, as well as possibility of functional geometrization of space in which every activity is de ned, and at the same time giving you the whole spectrum of intermediate states. As natural as forest becomes elds, thinning itself gradually, sea gradually shallowing towards shore, becoming beach, so our home should spread between instinct and mind, scenery and geometry, natural chaotic harmony and human order. House is dedicated to every representative of humankind, from the beginning of its existence.
Context is immaterial border between landscape and city that in reality is border between the natural landscape and human' s creation.

PUBLIC SPACE ON EMBANKMENT The public space is not a derivative of the walls and floors, but a result of the complex equation, where the unknowns are all of its users and the result - the sum of the interactions at the time. Therefore it is important to design flexible architecture that would not be interfering by spontaneous activity, but in a creative supported action, no matter what time of the day, year it is or what is the scale of the planned event.

FOOD TRUCK FESTIVAL
The most important part of the concept is a sqare extended between the edge of embankment of the Odra river and the tram station. On the both sites of the square we designed covered pavilions with basic facilities – toilets, small retail space, tram stop and bike parking. The rest of the square and the space below canopy is dedicated to the temporary events planned by the local inhabitants – market, holiday celebrations, food trucks, concerts and other. The rest of the site is covered by the park.

AARHUS SCHOOL OF ARCHITECTURE Nowadays the main purpose of architecture school is not only to stimulate creativity and provide the necessary infrastructure for designing but also positively influence a neighborhood and local society. In the age of common access to information, paradigm of the school, as an enclosed "teaching machine" gave a way to an understanding of it rather as a place of gaining and exchanging information - not only between stuff and student but also between locals, municipality, NGOs, professionals and all other people related to design process as well.
Crucial function of the building is to give a flexible, diversified and democratic space which can stimulate the discussion and involve people in participation processes on different levels. Our aim is to develop maximally open, bright and convenient common space, protected from external conditions by perforated structure of architecture school which fluently connects with the public space and gives diversified conditions for teaching out of the classical enclosed building framework.

SYMBIOSIS BACHELOR DIPLOMA
„Symbiosis” is an experimental attempt to find the solution for two problems – issue of feasible and cheap flats for young people near the city center, and the problem of old, neglected but extensive storey buildings which became even more neglected year by year till it will be finally demolished. The basis of the project is a light, low cost, ecological and quick to assemble and disassemble wooden-frame structure which can be located directly upon existing old building, providing temporary house units without necessity of having to buy a parcel, because the empty volume above existing building is leased for several years. sev
The symbiosis between new, temporary building and the old one is a bene t for both sides. Owner of old building get a rent which can be used to renovate it and provide facilities for the people living upon, in turn, the housing unit is located nearby the city center and is still much cheaper than ordinary development. “Symbiosis” is a temporary answer for the period before settling down and starting a family life. It is assumed that the construction will stand in one place till the parcel will sold out to give place to another building – it can be 3, 5, or 15 years. To lower the costs of development I designed reusable and ecological low-tech, prefabricated construction system made of common and cheap materials. Assembling process was simpli ed to lo maximally shorten construction time. When the building is not needed anymore – it can be dismantled and put into another location.

Thanks to the involvement of four entities in the process of creating a "symbiosis"namely: the investor, owner, residents and city - all derive tangible benefits from the cooperation:
The investor offers fast and cheap technique of building "symbiosis" Owner, has a one-story, large building in the downtown and is interested in additional profit

PERSPECTIVE VIEWS
ARCHITECTURAL HETEROTOPY IN THE AGE OF INTERNET The specialized, functional buildings, nowadays in many cases, become redundant, because exchange of information about “What? “Who?” and “Where?” today is much more important than professional feedback in particular location. Virtual revolution and social network caused that the famous maxim of Mies Van der Rohe "the form follows the function" today could sounds rather like "the event follows the space". The direct, instant communication by Internet between subjects gives us ability to arrange almost all kinds of events and forms of activity in the city if we can only find audience and right place in the city. The designed building is a place for the ephemeral, emergent and spontaneous “institutions" created in the bottom-up process by the pla users, which are in the same time audience, artists, organizers and creators of events. Today the reality demands the coupling of the real space with the virtual space of social network and also should allow bottom-up creation prepare a "program" that does not require permanently assigned territory, but rather the flexibility to adapt various forms of user’s activity in time.
The simple act of voting "for" or "against" the proposed events in a given time in a particular place shall select the program on the basis of the capitalist relationship between demand and supply: if what you offer is desirable - it will attract the audience, but if the entry is expensive or program is not interesting - no one will join the event. Like in Grotowski’s theater - on the stage they are just the spectator, artist and knowledge of who plays which role. The program that is organised in this way requires only a quick and efficient exchange of information - about the place, the audience and the artist. To create identity of the place and attract different groups of people the building has a broad program of functions, such as public space, restaurants, retail space, media library, multifunctional showrooms, apartaments and private coworking offices for rent. Large space of easy accesible werehouses that are well connected with the public spaces provides flexible addaptation of space for different forms of activity.

The building is located between two busy streets and in its immediate vicinity residential areas and academic complexes are located. The building was designed "from the inside". Its outer shell, formed as a monolithic concrete form has a funnel holes on both sides that invites people to step by to the public space inside the building which becomes in this way a sheltered pedestrian street. The moveable glass elevation on both sides of building provides the light to the interior and also gives a possibility to occasionally enter for cars or trucks, which is convenient when big events are organised. The communication in the building is intuitive - in each corner there is an or elevator or staircase and in the middle of the building, around the public square there are two open staircases leading to the last floor with multipurpose halls, where biggest events can take place.
