HOW FAR WILL WE GO? I
t's difficult to return to international karting competition this past month without mentioning the inexorable fall in the number of participants. There were only 44 drivers in the European Championship at Zuera, 25% fewer drivers at Castelletto in the Rotax Max Euro Challenge, so the figures unfortunately confirm a strong trend that still further clouding the discipline. Evoking the economic situation nothing new and masks other explanations, such as the enduring appeal of formulas like the CIK-FIA Academy Trophy. Nationally, the KZ2 Coupe de France at Ostricourt didn't attract as many competitors as could be expected for this popular category,

but the first event of the 2015 NSK managed to gather 235 drivers in nine categories. 3MK Events also scored another success in the field of leisure karting at the SWS World Finals with 270 drivers from around the world. Finally, increasingly frequent Historic Kart meetings recorded a steady rise in their numbers. It is as if the top level is receding more and more every year from the majority of karting enthusiasts. Money has taken on too much importance in international competitions to the point of discouraging most amateurs in the broadest sense. This is probably one of the current concerns of the Rotax Max Euro

Challenge which is now dominated by factory teams, openly or disguised. When one isn't a factory driver, and there are actually very few, it is often necessary to spend a lot of money to get hardware comparable to the big teams, in CIK or Rotax competition. Karting professionals, chassis or engine manufacturers, retailers, teams, organisers, and others, though all share the same vital necessity of a greater number of drivers, this doesn't show in their strategies. Isn't it time, at the last moment, to take joint decisions in this direction instead of aiming for a small short-term victory over ones neighbours who are in the same boat?

hristophe LOLLIER will therefore be responsible, under the supervision of the President of the FFSA Nicolas DESCHAUX and the Managing Director Dominique SERIEYS, for the training of the FFSA French teams and the implementation of karting in high-level politics and motorsports.

He will follow the ambition of the federal ministerial guidelines in all missions entrusted to him, and extend the work that has been done by Morgan Caron." "I am very pleased with the joint decision of the Federation and the Ministry," says Christophe Lollier, National Technical Director of the FFSA. "Over the years I have had the opportunity to participate in finding and training young talent from French karting and motorsport, many of whom have now reached the highest level in their discipline. THE CAREER OF THE NEW DTN OF THE FFSA Christophe LOLLIER, 48, holds the DEJEPS Motor Sport and since 2004 served as the trainer, coach and the Sporting and Technical Director of P么le France on behalf of the Federation. The Deputy National Technical Director since 2010, he took on the parallel CTO and Sporting functions at the Auto Sport Academy since 2011, a mission he will continue to exercise.

CZ Chains is one of a few chain manufacturers worldwide. The company can boast of having produced more than 350 million metres of chain since its creation in 1929! In its various areas of activity; industry, automotive, motorcycle and karting, a requirement for quality has led the company to work with the best such as KTM for the transmission and BMW and Audi for distribution. The competition, firstly in motorcycles and karting, is in the genes for CZ Chains.

fter discovering this, Thierry Lépine - of IAME Belgium - quickly realized that there was largely untapped potential in karting. Thus he created CZ Kart Chain Europe in 2012 to boost the distribution of CZ chains in the discipline. Success soon exceeded expectations and there are now thousands karting
chains from the Czech brand shipped around the world. Encouraged by CZ Kart Chain Europe, the Zanardi team Strakka Racing and Dino Chiesa became a CZ Chains partner in 2014 for the KF category with the top model, the CZ 219 O-Ring. Using the chains in top level competition is an excellent test bed, both for the performance and the reliability of products. This is where CZ makes a real difference with O-rings that are more "free" and therefore more successful in competition! The traditional 219 Gold chains still have a lot of uses, mainly in one-make challenges. Since 2015, and always through CZ Kart Chain Europe, the VDK Racing team has also become a partner of CZ Chains. The victory of Kenny Roosens during the first round of the European KF-Junior Championship in Portimao and with 2nd place from Tom Joyner in KF (Zanardi), was a resounding success for CZ Chains at the highest level after many victories in the one-make

GABRIEL AUBRY MAKES HIS DEBUT AS A COACH A Tony Kart Racing Team driver until 2014, now racing in the French F4 Championship, Gabriel Aubry was at Zuera to share his experience with the young American driver Jagger Jones who participated in the CIKFIA Academy Trophy. "I met Jagger in Las Vegas in November." Gabriel says. "This is part of the reason I appreciate the SuperNationals which was my last kart race to date ... Jagger is a young and very fast driver, aged 12, who won the ProKart Challenge in TaG Cadet and finished 10th in the Rok Cup World Finals at Lonato. I think he is able to do well in the Academy, especially if he follows the good advice of his coach!" Motor sport is part of the genetic heritage of the Jones family. PJ Jones, Jagger's father, drove in NASCAR, IndyCar and Champ Car. His most famous victory remains the 24 Hours of Daytona in 1993. His grandfather, Parnelli Jones, won the Indianapolis 500 in 1963. In short, competition is in Jones' blood, and it will be interesting to follow Jagger's progress of this season.

A KART CIRCUIT IN NIMES? KART ANIM' OF COURSE! Known as the white wolf in competition karting, notably as organiser of the Challenge Francilien, since the middle of the 2013 season Bruno Foulny has reopened the Milhaud Karting track, 20 minutes from the Nîmes city centre. After some reflection, he chose to keep it simple, renaming the site: Kart Anim', which is logical. The
track is not the longest in France, but it has everything to help adults and children to indulge their passion at best.

WOMEN IN MOTORSPORT SUPPORTED KARTER WINS IN ZUERA Marta Garcia, who was selected by the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission to receive a funded drive in the 2015 CIKFIA Karting Academy Trophy, won the opening round of the series at the Circuito Internacional Zuera, near Zaragoza.

itted against a field of 49 other drivers from 35 nations, the 14-year-old Spaniard conquered the notoriously fast circuit to claim the fastest lap and outright victory by 2.8 seconds. Marta's combined points from the qualifying heat and final see her top the Trophy standings after the first of the three rounds on the calendar. Commenting on her result, Michèle Mouton, President of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission said: "This is the second year we have supported Marta, we felt she had promise and this is a fantastic result for her. There is a big
field of youngsters all competing in the same equipment, so this is a great achievement and one that I'm sure will really motivate her further. Encouraging youngsters at this age is really important and hopefully Marta will inspire other young girls to come along and give karting a go."
The FIA Women in Motorsport Commission is working in partnership with the CIK-FIA, helping to encourage young women into the sport at grass roots level.

DEMONSTRATION OF THE SODI 2-DRIVE AT RKC Sodi took advantage of the SWS World Finals at Cormeilles to organise demonstration sessions of its two-seater leisure kart. The presence of the two drivers from the Sodi Racing Team, Anthony Abbasse and Arnaud Kozlinski on track gave an added attraction to the sessions for VIP passengers. The new 2Drive showed off amazing qualities on the track, especially in the context intro-
ducing drivers to karting and driving schools.

he Sodikart directors, Gildas Merian and Bertrand Pignolet, had the courage to try their luck next to the champions. They have not looked back. "This is a great tool for learning to drive," confided the founder of the French brand. "I admit that Anthony Abbasse impressed me, braking late and cornering hard. But then when I got behind the wheel of the 2Drive, he gave me valuable advice on the spot. It's great for learning and development."

KZ SHOW BY ABBASSE AND KOZLINSKI WITH SODI AT THE WORLD FINALS There's nothing like a KZ starting at full throttle to attract the crowds, but when there are two KZ putting on a show in front of the drivers and spectators at the Sodi World Finals, success is guaranteed.

specially as Arnaud Kozlinski and Anthony Abbasse spared no effort to delight the audience. Standing starts, full speed turns, donuts, with or without hands, and other stunts that combined high speed and superheated tyres, the Sodi factory drivers put on a spectacular show. Special mention for Koko who managed to buck his machine repeatedly like a fiery bull, to cries of "olé!" from the crowd.

OVER 70 HISTORIC KARTS IN LAVAL!
The third edition of the annual event organised by Retrokart France, the historic meeting at Laval in 2015 reported strong growth with about 75 drivers and 60 karts together on the Beausoleil Louis Paillard circuit. The discipline is attracting new enthusiasts and the equipment display is also increasing in quantity and quality.

MARIEMBOURG FACELIFT Karting des Fagnes has not delayed in beginning its renovation!
T
hanks to aid from the Brussels Wallonia region (see article), brand new tarmac that has been laid on the 1366m Mariembourg circuit, to the delight of drivers. The development programme will continue with the refurbishment of the cafeteria and the construction of a new technical building. But for now, after a short break, leisure karting activity resumes this weekend with several endurance races. There is also some places on Saturday 13th June for those who would like to try out the new Mariembourg surface first.

Following a 15-year absence, Winfield Racing School returns to Paul Ricard in January 2016 with the launch of an exciting new project: the Winter Selection programme, which harks back to Winfield's historic concept of discovering motor racing's ‘next big thing'.
I
n keeping with the ethos of the original Racing School, Winfield's latest project will reward the Winter Selection winner with a fully funded season in a competitive FIA Formula 4 championship. What's more, the programme aims to educate and support young drivers in an effort to bridge the gap between karting and single-seater racing as they climb the motorsport ladder towards Formula 1. The Winfield Winter Selection will comprise nine races on three different configurations of the Paul Ricard circuit over just three weeks, offering participants an intensive learning experience both on track and off it. Indeed, the programme will include qualifying and race sessions as well as workshops on basic technical explanations, rules and regulations, insurance, physical and mental preparation, media training and road and racing conduct. As a result the Winfield Winter Selection is so much more than an off-season championship; it offers youngsters the full driver training expe-
rience to help them on their way to a career in motor racing. he modern interpretation of Winfield Racing School aims to echo the success of its 1964 namesake that helped propel the likes of Alain Prost, Damon Hill, Didier Pironi, Jacques Laffite and Jean Alesi towards Formula 1. Indeed, its alumni's achievements include some 90 grand prix race wins and five Formula 1 World Championship titles. Managing Director Fred Garcia, whose career at the highest levels of motorsport spans 15 years, has spent the past two years working to revive the famous school. "As a Frenchman and a motorsport enthusiast, I have a very personal and emotional connection to Winfield," he said. "It was such an iconic racing school throughout my childhood and when I got my driving licence I took part in the Winfield Scholarship programme myself, like so many other young hopefuls. Now, I want to give something
back to the programme that helped me and so many others achieve what they have. The Winfield Racing School name carries with it great prestige and a profound history in the world of motorsport; hopefully this modern interpretation will prove just as successful and continue its legacy." In addition to the Racing School, Winfield will also be offering a corporate F1 programme that allows VIP guests and gentleman drivers to experience a modern grand prix car that raced at the pinnacle of motorsport between 2011 and 2013. The Winfield Winter Selection kicks off in January 2016 at the Le Castellet circuit, while the corporate F1 experience will be available from Autumn 2015. KZ2 CELENTA FIRST UNDER THE CHEQUERED, HILTBRAND WINS T he second round of the European KZ2 Championship has saw many surprises during its different phases. Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) set the fastest time, then his teammate Paolo Besancenez (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead at the end of the heats. Francesco Celenta (Parolin / TM) won the prefinal unchallenged before crossing the final finish line in 1st place before being penalised for jumping the start. The victory went to Pedro Hiltbrand (CRG / Maxter). Joel Johansson (Energy / TM) took 2nd place ahead of Besancenez, while Luca Corberi (Tony Kart / Vortex) was ahead of Jorge Pescador (Praga / Parilla) in the top five. The leader on arrival at Zuera, Andreas Fasberg lost his chance to impose when he was excluded for replacing his spoiler. Hiltbrand is now leading the standings with 52 points ahead of three drivers on identical scores of 35 points, Johansson, Besancenez and Corberi.

KZ CAMPONESCHI UNTOUCHABLE A lready a winner at Sarno, Flavio Camponeschi (Tony Kart / Vortex) again triumphed against his teammate Marco Ardigo (Tony Kart / Vortex) who had however started with pole position before dominating the heats. But Camponeschi won with ease in the prefinal and brilliantly fought Ardigo for the lead of the final. Ben Hanley (Croc Promotions / TM) completed the podium after a penalty for Jordon Lennox-Lamb

hree drivers from the FFSA Equipe de France Karting participated in the CIK-FIA meeting at Zuera, Spain. Thomas Laurent and Theo Nouet showed the French ambitions from the start by taking two pole positions in qualifying in KZ2 and the Academy Trophy. The course of the race was not free of problems, technical or sporting, including for Enzo Coursimault, but the determination of these three young kart drivers selected by the FFSA has been widely demonstrated. It was the baptism of fire in international competition for Enzo Coursimault and Theo Nouet at the first meeting of CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy where they defended the colours of France among the 35 nations involved. Competing in three events, with a conclusion at Le Mans alongside the World Championship in September, the Academy Trophy sees young karting hopefuls compete on equal terms on Parolin karts / FIM relatives of KF-Junior machines. The two French drivers benefited during the competition from advice from Marc Berteaux, the specialist FFSA Karting coach.
Although the young Theo Nouet managed to shine immediately with the fastest time in qualifying, Enzo Coursimault met a long series of serious technical problems, depriving him of his results in qualifying and the heats: he could not complete any lap during this phase of the competition due to problems with carburetion and ignition. Present at Zuera, the President of the FFSA National Karting Commission Jean-Pierre Deschamps used his influence to ensure that Enzo had a machine in good working order for the end of the meeting. The result was that Enzo managed to qualify for the finals with the feat of coming back to 3rd position in the repechage after he starting from 22nd and last place. Winner of his four qualifying heats, Paolo continued to compete at the front KZ2 and concluded with a 3rd place finish as well as the provisional classification of the Championship.

he 4th edition of the Coppa di Campioni Vintage took place in a great atmosphere full of passion this weekend on the Pista Azzurra in Jesolo (ITA). More than 150 historic karts, including some rare gems, were on show and many of them were able to relive the fervor on track of the origins of the discipline, thanks to excellent organisation by the Automotoclub Storico Italiano. The ASI Show Kart invaded the paddock of Jesolo as usual for one of the largest exhibitions of historic karts in the world. More than 150 machines were exhibited during the three days of the event, including very rare pieces like the very first BM and Komet engines. Perfectly organised by the ASI (Automotoclub Storico Italiano), the Coppa dei Campioni Vintage offered many sessions on track for the historic kart drivers. The gloomy weather on Friday gave way to clear blue skies over the track on Saturday and Sunday. From the three youngsters entered to the senior of the event at 90 years old, all generations worked together with an undeniable harmony among the hundred demonstration drivers from eight countries. The event had two highlights, firstly with a dinner on board a boat, in the middle of the Venice lagoon on Saturday night. The event concluded with a flourish on Sunday afternoon with an "old school" awards ceremony attended by Kees van de Grint, the Vice-President of the CIK-FIA and Giorgio Formini, head of karting of the ASI. This great moment of friendship lasted while the participants were rewarded, and important personalities were honoured such as the driver Gabriele Gorini, three times winner of the Coppa dei Campioni.

he poleman, Leonard Hoogenboom (Tony Kart-Strawberry Racing), yielded 1st place to Pierce Lehane (Tony Kart-Strawberry Racing) after the heats, but a clash slowed the course of the Australian in the prefinal while Rinus Van Kalmthout (Tony Kart -Daems Racing) won. But no one could oppose the victorious return of Richard Verschoor (FA Kart-Team TKP) in the final after 43rd in qualifying. There was a sensational final ascent for the French driver Nicolas Picot (Sodi-KPR) from 31st to 9th position, with Adrien Renaudin (Sodi-KPR) meanwhile returning to 17th place. Lehane still retains the points lead ahead of Edward Brand (CRG-CRG Spa) and Sam Marsh (FA Kart-Dan Holland Racing).

ean MacDonald (Kosmic-AIM Motorsport) left only crumbs for his opponents. The Briton was truly ahead of everyone and went from 8th to 3rd place in the championship. Brilliantly, Axel Charpentier (Tony Kart-Strawberry Racing) took 2nd place after a duel with Fin Kenneally (Kosmic-AIM Motorsport) and now is in the points lead ahead of Kiern Jewiss (Tony KartStrawberry Racing). The French driver Adam Eteki (Tony Kart-SG Drivers) set the 11th fastest time and finished the final at the same level while Jean-Baptiste Simmenauer (Tony Kart-Strawberry Racing) was on a rapid return to 4th position.

aolo De Conto (CRG-CRG Spa) was completely faultless p in DD2, untouchable at home. With 2nd place in the finals, Ferenc Kanscar (BirelArt-KMS) continues to lead the standings. Rasmus Markkanen (Tony Kart-TRV) took the third step of the final podium. There was a big blow for Anthony Abbasse (Sodi-Sodi) who was leading the championship on arrival at Castelletto. Ruled to have lost part of his rear bumper during a clash in the prefinal, he can say farewell to his title hopes. A fine example of blind application of the Regulations ... BEWARE OF MORGADO IN DD2 MASTERS Absent from the meeting first meeting at Salbris, Cristiano Morgado (Sodi-Sodi) reminded his opponents who was boss by winning everything. Igor Mukhin (CRG-CRG Spa) finished 2nd and ensured his position as the points leader ahead of Tomokazu Kawase (KosmicUniq Racing Team) who had little pace at Castelletto. Christophe Adams (BirelArt-KMS) mounted the podium ahead of Tamsin Germain (CRG-DG Racing) and Marc Berteaux (BirelArt-KMS).

he second round of the 2015 Rotax Max Euro Challenge saw the temperature rise both at the 7 Laghi circuit at Castelletto and under the helmets of some of the drivers. At this highly competitive event, Adam Eteki (Tony KartSG Drivers) still managed to achieve outstanding times and complete a difficult prefinal then gain a sensational 18 places in the final. The rapid progress of the young driver in his first international season in Rotax, so lets hope for top results in the next races. With his 11th in qualifying, Adam already posted the best French performance among the 45 drivers entered in Rotax Junior in Castelletto. Unfortunately he could not take advantage of his 5th position on the starting grid for the first qualifying heat as he had to retire at halfway. Displeased by the incident, Adam set the third best time in the next heat and finished 4th, then finished the heats beautifully in 2nd place with the fastest lap! Adam started from 11th position in the prefinal, but another incident put him to the back of the pack on the 3rd lap. He could not do much to improve his position, 29th on the finish line, but nonetheless posted the fastest time of the race. Motivated as ever in the final, Adam began a real celebration which led him to 11th position at the chequered flag, a record gain of 18 places, with the second fastest lap just 3 mils off the fastest.

he Simmenauer brothers are competing this year for the first time in different programmes. The eldest, LouisFerdinand, has stayed in the world of Rotax in the Senior category, while the youngest, JeanBaptiste, is racing in the CIK-FIA category KFJunior. The calendar has recently allowed him to participate in the second round of the Rotax Max Euro Challenge alongside his brother, on the 7 Laghi circuit he knows well. Always faithful to the Jana Racing, LouisFerdinand faced the specialists in Rotax Senior for the first time at Castelletto. Setting 13th lap in his group, he was in 31st place overall, as the second session had been significantly faster than the first. The qualifying heats began badly with a retirement in the first. LouisFerdinand had to go through the repechage to qualify. He perfectly completed his mission by returning to the top six, with the fastest time of the race. His return to form continued during
the prefinal with a sharp rise from 34th to 23rd place and he finished this difficult weekend in 21st place in the final and the championship. Racing with the Tony Kart Racing Team in KF-Junior events, Jean-Baptiste joined the famous Strawberry Racing team at Castelletto. Seasoned by many races that he has already completed from the beginning of the year, Jean-Baptiste was quickly on the pace in the Rotax Junior field, from his 16th time in qualifying. An incident forced him to give up on the second lap of the first heat, but he then caught up with a 6th and 4th positions, each time setting the third best time. Like his brother, in the prefinal he made a comeback, gaining 11 places to finish 6th. Jean-Baptiste improved his position further in the final by fighting in the top four to finish just off the podium.

LUFF WINS CONSISTENTLY AGAINST HAHN D
riving their Sodi LR5s, the participants in the Junior Cup aged 11 to 15 have seen their numbers rise from 20 in 2014 to 36 this year. Germany's Felix Hahn began with wins on the first day, but then his supremacy was challenged by
Britain's Matthew Luff, while the Frenchman Bastien Flahaut won the last race of the World Masters as he did last year. Luff eventually won in the standings ahead of Hahn and the young French driver RĂŠmy Goville, rewarded for his consistency.

IMPRESSIVE CAPRASSE T
he Seniors Sprint Cup alternated between the efficient Sodi GT5R and powerful Sodi RX250 to decide the result. The Belgian Kevin Caprasse, 7th in 2014, built his

homas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) had already won the Coupe de France last year with Team Cedric Sport and again dominated from beginning to end of the 2015 event. Setting the second fastest time behind Maxime Roy (BirelART / TM) during qualifying, Laurent didn't leave the 1st place after that. His rivals took turns in pursuit, such as Charles Magnin (Tony Kart / Vortex) in the prefinal and Charles Fiault (Sodi / TM) in the final missed the chance to attack on the last lap. A clash in the last minute changed the game for the places of honour: Antoine Poulain (Sodi / TM) and Eddy Pagnon (CRG / Vortex) who joined the winner on the podium.

ĂŠdric Spirgel (BirelART / TM) the favourite for the KZ2 Gentleman final after his strong domination before. But Arnaud Robillot (Tony Kart / Modena) took control of the race at the lights, then Emilien Grosso (Tony Kart / Vortex) took the lead on the second lap and the die was cast. Despite his best efforts, Spirgel could not really worry Grosso who admirably resisted the pressure and walked with great composure to the first step of the podium. Consistent at the front of the class, JeanPhilippe Ligier (BirelART / TM) took his best result by finishing in 3rd place.

llie Goldstein remained unbeaten in X30 Cadet, followed onto the podium by Arthur Ronvaux and Valon Janssen. Goldstein took off in the Championship over Keziah Manguette. Noah Maton took his first national victory in front of Johan Sinty in Mini, both drivers finding themselves neck and neck for the title. Pierre-Yves Corthals took sweet revenge by dominating the X30 Master category to Luc Lefevre and Alain Bazard. Olivier Palmaers scored his first success by passing Thomas Cypers in X30 Shifter on the last lap of the final, with Corentin Gregory finishing 3rd.

CADET MARTINS AFTER A THRILLER P
ole went to Thomas Mialane. Theo Pourchaire went on the attack in the heats and won the prefinal. Mialane took 1st position in the final in front of Victor Martins who inherited the victory when Mialane was found to be underweight, and Pourchaire took 2nd place. Forced to retire in the prefinal, Gillian Henrion managed an incredible recovery of 25 places to take 3rd position.

In the final Florian Venturi launched the hostilities by passing Jules Bollier, who won the prefinal. Maxime Sabin took the opportunity to take the lead, under the eyes of Vincent Marserou and Enzo Valente. On the last lap, Sabin and Bollier crashed. Venturi sped to victory and Valente crept into 2nd position ahead of Marserou. Adam Eteki, who had experienced ups and downs, took 4th.

Only 5th after a difficult start in the final, Vincent FraĂŻsse pulled out all the stops to defeat his opponents with Thomas Ricci in his wake. Things were further complicated for Napolitano on the last lap, when attempting to pass Compere. Ingrid Girard took advantage to emerge in 3rd position.

X30 MASTER JOLINET AHEAD OF QUINQUET A
fter a struggle for every moment in the prefinal between Gildas Quinquet, Franck Rouxel and Gregory Jolinet the infernal trio became a duo in the final. Rouxel couldn't keep up and had to resolve to ensure 3rd place. Jolinet ended up winning the race after a duel with Quinquet.
ROTAX MAX MASTER EVERYONE BEHIND CHARLY HIPP J
eremiah Charon made a strong impression in the heats, like Nicolas Duchateau in the prefinal. However Charly Hipp took control of the final from the second lap and sped to victory. The return of Mathieu Camus, attacks from Jacques Gautier and the efforts of Thomas Mettetal animated the race. Camus took 2nd position ahead of Mettetal, Duchateau and Gautier.

ROTAX MAX EVO DAY OF GLORY FOR REVIRIAULT L eader in timed qualifying and after the heats, Joel Deptuch saw his supremacy stopped by Adrien Renaudin in the prefinal. Very comfortable at the start of the final, Renaudin lost the advantage at the restart of the race after a red flag. Emmanuel Reviriault then took the lead, followed by Arnaud Sarrazin. Renaudin managed to regain 2nd place, but Reviriault won by four tenths, Sarrazin finishing 3rd ahead of Paul Evrard and Renaud Bertin.

DD2 VICTORY FOR ANSTETT AND ADAMS I
t was a wild ride in DD2: Jules Cousin reclaimed the pole for the final after various setbacks (technical and sporting) for his opponents at the end of the prefinal. Jean-Baptiste Pennequin quickly overtook and ran ahead until the finish, but was then penalized. Alexander Anstett made a superb comeback and inherited the victory in front of Barrie Pullinger and Nicolas Picot, also making big recoveries! Cousin was content with 5th place ahead of Alexis Coursault and Christophe Adams, who raced against Charly Hipp to win in Rotax DD2 Master.

EARLY SUCCESS FOR KPR T
he Kart Pro Racing drivers were strong from the opening of the 2015 NSK at Le Mans in the Cadet, Nationale, Rotax Max, Rotax Masters, DD2, DD2 Master and X30 Senior categories. The overall balance of the team is very convincing with Adrien Renaudin leading the standings in Rotax Max, Victor Martins leading Cadet, Enzo Valente 2nd in National, while Jules Cousin (DSS Kart) powered by KPR is top in DD2. Dominique Chech, the head of KPR, sums it up: "After hard work on the new Rotax Max Evo early in the season and success at the first regional races of the year, we were eager to confront the best nationally. The KPR Motors engines went really well at NSK, both fast and reliable. We have gone a step further, it is undeniable. For the chassis, the collaboration with Sodi is bearing fruit especially as the French brand appears at each race with the desire to produce the best hardware. Everything is in place to win in 2015." In testing and qualifying at Le Mans Kart Racing Pro drivers were at the front. Pole for the first race for Nicolas Picot in DD2 and Charly Hipp (KPR engine) in DD2 Masters, the second fastest time for Jean Nomblot in National and Mathieu Camus in Rotax Master with Laurent Aubin and Fabien Mihoub 3rd and 6th, 3rd fastest time for Adrien Renaudin in Rotax Max Evo, and 4th in qualifying for Kevin Petit in X30 Senior. Very fast since the beginning of the season, the newcomer in competition, with just two seasons on the clock, Victor Martins, discovered by KPR, managed to stay in 2nd and 3rd positions until the prefinal before winning the Cadet final overtaking the leader, allowing him to take the championship lead. There was a beautiful 12th place for Damyen Droux making his national debut.
Enzo Valente showed convincing race intelligence in Nationale. Finishing in the top five in the prefinal, he finished 2nd in the final and in the championship. Manhandled on the track, the fast Jean Nomblot was 8th but is waiting for the next opportunity to take revenge. In Rotax Max Evo, Adrien Renaudin, the French National Champion of 2014, confirmed his talent in Seniors by winning his prefinal. After a big lead in the final after the first start, he lost his lead after a red flag, but took 2nd place at the finish allowing him to leave Le Mans leading the championship. The four drivers from KPR in Rotax Master returned to the top 10. Mathieu Camus concluded the final in 2nd position with the fastest lap. In DD2, Nicolas Picot was sanctioned during the prefinal for a non-compliant carburettor, although the had has just been removed from its original packaging before the start. That did not stop Nicolas from rising to 3rd place in the final. Charly Hipp (KPR Motor) took 2nd place in DD2 Masters, both in the race and the final standings. A newcomer to the X30 Senior category, Kevin Petit was immediately in the leading group and already 6th in the championship.

LAURENT INTRACTABLE T he double French Champion Thomas Laurent (Tony Kart / Vortex) dominated the KZ2 category throughout the meeting. However, competition was strong, and JĂŠrĂŠmy Lopes (Tony Kart / Vortex) was ahead of Lawrence in the third and final heat on Sunday morning and totalled the highest number of laps led during the finals. But the wily Laurent always managed to surpass him in the very last metre, including winning the final by a whisker of a lead of 23 milliseconds. Nelson Bondier (Tony Kart / TM) finished 3rd in the prefinal, followed by Yoann Sanchez (Alpha / TM) and Christophe Benoit (BirelART / TM), while the young Enzo Samon (Exprit / Vortex), who set the fastest lap, took the third step of the podium ahead of the experienced Bondier and Benoit.

KZ2 GUILVERT WINS T
he battle was more open for those over 32 years. The Champion Franck Savouret (FA Kart / Vortex) took pole position, but Yannick Savard (CRG / Modena) was ahead in the qualifying heats with three wins against two, with Thomas Bailly (TB Kart / Modena) clinching the remaining heat. Yannick Savard then imposed in the prefinal ahead of his brother Thierry (BirelART / TM) and Savouret but Guilvert (BirelART / TM) already had his spoiler in 4th position. The Savard brothers started in the top two places until Yannick was slowed by engine failures. Guilvert seized the lead in a group of four drivers to put on a beautiful show and won at the finish line by 37 thousandths of a second, helped by a mistake from Thierry Savard who thought the race still had a lap left. Savouret finished 3rd by one tenth, Teddy Legendre (Tony Kart / Vortex), a great leader of the class, took 4th place and Yannick Savard 5th with the fastest time of the race.

he German Peter Elkmann (Mskart / VM) beat the record for the LĂŠdenon track by taking pole position in timed qualifying with 1'17''538. Alexandre Sebastia (Anderson / DEA) was 2nd by more than a second and Julien Goullancourt (Anderson / DEA) was 3rd.
the podium for the first time in 3rd position. It was a similar scenario in Race 2, with Elkmann the winner ahead of Sebastia, but this time Goullancourt retained 3rd place against attacks from Lamalle.
Elkmann then took a third even clearer victory. Sebastia retired, Lamalle broke down and Elkmann immediately took command of Kevin Ranoarmanana (MS Kart / DEA) slowed Race 1 ahead of Sebastia, while Philippe on the last lap. Goullancourt secured 2nd Gerber (PVP / FPE) took the ascendancy over place while Gerber reclaimed 3rd place. Goullancourt in the chasing pack. The two leaders quickly distanced their opponents. nlucky at Ostricourt, the experienced Tim MĂŠrieux won three races at Laval ahead of his rival Louis Marchal, ranked 2nd throughout the weekend. Enzo Caldaras was able to return to the third step of the podium in Race 2 and in the top five of Race 3. These three drivers are currently in the top three places of the championship. Better placed on Saturday, Enzo Richer was on the podium in Race 1, while Augustin Bernier finished on the 3rd step in the Race 3 after the fastest time in the second timed session.

ariana Machado (Praga) showed very good pace during the third meeting. The driver from Braga won Final 1 and 4th place in Final 2 allowed him to take the championship lead. n the António Dinis Trophy - for the Cadete category with 25 drivers - Rafael Rêgo (Energy) won both finals and is leading the championship, ahead of his main challenger Luis Alves (Haase). Lourenço Marques (DR) completed the podium in Final 1 and Henrique Cruz (Energy) in Final 2. There were notable performances from Duarte Pinto Coelho (Tony Kart), Duarte Ferreira (Zanardi) and Mario Borges (Topkart) in the top five as well as Matilde Ferreira (DR), the top female, rising from 21st to 9th place in Final 2.

iccardo Longhi (CRG / TM) took pole in qualifying ahead of Ciro Mollo (PCR / TM) and Lorenzo Lapina (Italcorse / Modena), but Mollo led the heats while Longhi slipped back to 10th position. He reduced the deficit in Race 1 by finishing 2nd behind Mollo. Starting from a reverse grid for the top eight, Race 2 saw victory for Mirko Torsellini (Ricciardo / TM) against Massimo Mazzali (CRG / TM), while Mollo came back to 3rd position. Longhi nevertheless took the lead in the provisional ranking, but Mollo made a splash in 3rd position behind Santonocito.

Lombardo kept the advantage in the heats then in Race 1 when Lorenzo Colombo (Tony Kart / LKE) followed him in 2nd position ahead of Giardelli. The reverse grid for Race 2 facilitated the win for Grigoriev ahead of Dmitrii Bogdanov (Tony Kart / Vortex) and Lombardo. Colombo retains the championship lead, Giardelli 2nd and Lombardo 3rd.
MICHELOTTO REIGNS SUPREME IN 60 MINI

ole man ahead of Biagio Ruvolo (Energy / Parilla), Mattia Michelotto (Energy / Parilla) was in 3rd place after the heats. Starting ahead in Race 1, Giuseppe Fusco (Tony Kart / TM) had a spark plug problem, Ruvolo plummeted down the order, leaving Leonardo Marseglia (Zanardi / TM) to win in front of Michelotto and Federico Cecchi (Tony Kart / TM). Michelotto repeated the win in Race 2 while Dennis Hauger (CRG / TM) came back to 2nd and Ruvolo 3rd. Michelotto is now 14 points ahead of Hauger in the lead of the championship, Ruvolo down to 3rd and Fusco 5th.

ouis Gachot was too eager to take advantage of his pole position in the race, from the reversed grid and he was penalised for jumping the start. Fenestraz came back to the pits because of a mechanical problem. Starting at the front, Ye Yifei made a mistake and dropped to 10th. Axel Matus took the lead and kept it until the end. Alesi was 3rd and then 2nd when Reuben Kressner retired and Julien Andlauer was penalised. Julien Darras finished on the podium.

FENESTRAZ DOUBLES

he duel was between Fenestraz and Moineault in Race 3 but Fenestraz didn't let his rival or the restart following neutralisation destabilise him and he took his second victory of the weekend ahead of Moineault while Gabriel Aubry managed to pass Giuliano Alesi to get on the podium again and Kressner finished 5th.

KAMI LALIBERTÉ CONTINUES HIS APPRENTICESHIP

etween the rails of the historic city of Pau, the Canadian driver Kami Laliberté was able to overcome the difficulty of driving in the streets. Indeed, the urban layout didn't do him any favours during the weekend but Kami still managed to gain from the event by collecting points to keep him in the top ten in the overall Championship. After a troubled qualifying session, Kami Laliberté ranked in 12th and 14th position on the starting grids for race 1 and 3.
In the second race of the weekend, the young driver started from 15th position. At the lights, Kami Laliberté had an excellent start and managed, through incisive driving, to pass a competitor every lap to cross the finish line in 9th position. For the final race on Sunday, the sun finally appeared and Kami raced unhindered from 12th. As in Race 2, he showed mastery and patience to overcome several competitors and finish his last race at Pau in 9th place again.

lthough he started well at the first round of the French F4 Championship at LĂŠdenon, Gabriel Aubry had some difficulties on the Bugatti circuit before brilliantly putting things right on the streets of Pau, at the third round. The first third of the 2015 season saw him back in the top five, with quality, speed and maturity, which confirms the potential in the top ranks of car racing. Although the rainy weekend at Le Mans was far from bringing the hoped for satisfaction, Gabriel's progress on a wet track was not the issue as shown by his performance in the free practice sessions of the Grand Prix de Pau where he posted the second fastest time in the rain. "The meeting started very well!" said the driver. "I was well prepared and I was able to sustain a good pace from the first running on the streets of Pau, even with limited grip."
Aware of the difficulty of overtaking on this street circuit, reminiscent of Monaco, Gabriel was attacking from the start of Race 1 to grab 3rd position and then kept his opponents at a distance with good speed - less than 0.3s from the best time - and a steady effort. A wind of madness blew over Race 2 and the reverse grid for the top 10. Gabriel was showing a lot of composure in all the commotion. "I went up from 8th to 5th place, but Laaksonen was very lively behind me and ended up taking us out. Fortunately, I only lost two places and as I was one of the fastest I was able to go back to 4th position thanks to the mistakes made in front of me. The podium was a possibility without the incident on lap 9."

GOOD PROGRESS ON THE STREETS OF PAU FOR MICHAEL BENYAHIA

he Moroccan-American Michael Benyahia had an appointment with the difficult street circuit of Pau this weekend for the third round of the French F4 Championship. The youngest driver in the field was able to avoid the many pitfalls of this very special race, reminiscent of Monaco, to gain valuable experience as well as new championship points. He also shows real progression in car racing, racing against opponents with more experience. "It's really not easy to find the limit without exceeding it on a street circuit like Pau," admitted Michael. "I don't have the experience or training needed to aim for a podium, so I tried to find the right lines

without taking unnecessary risks, before increasing the pace in the last race. It's a great satisfaction to have been able to overtake within the narrow streets without making mistakes. I am now more comfortable, especially when braking, and my confidence has improved. I am very happy with my weekend!" During the qualifying session, tyre optimisation was complicated by the waved yellow flags on the entire circuit. Then bunched up drivers stopped Michael from finding a clear lap to get the most out of his car. But despite a 15th place in qualifying, the young Moroccan managed great gains during races. In the first race, he mainly
aimed to stay out of trouble and overcome all of the difficulties. Mission accomplished with a 13th place and all the laps completed at the finish. Michael began to increase the gas in Race 2, usually more lively because of the reverse grid for the top 10. His times improved and his consistency allowed him to take advantage of the incidents in front of him to go back to 8th place, his best result to date in F4. But in the third and final race he showed his best progress with the successful implementation of strategic advice from his coach StĂŠphane Daoudi. He went on the attack from the lights and completed a superb overtake on
the Mexican Sierra on the second lap. Then Michael was driving with good times and smoothly finished 10th. Following the first point scored at Le Mans, Michael adds five more points to his score in the provisional standings after the race at Pau, a telltale sign of an improvement that will not stop there! The next round of the French F4 Championship will take place from June 12th to 14th 2015 near the Hungarian capital of Budapest, on the famous Hungaroring circuit which has hosted Formula 1 since 1986.

tarting in the fastest group B, Jake Dennis (Prema Powerteam) raided qualifying, each time setting the fastest time in front of a trio which sometimes swapped places: Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing), Antonio Giovinazzi (Ayam Jagonya with Carlin) and Maximilian G端nther (kfzteile24 M端cke Motorsport).
FIRST VICTORY FOR DENNIS

he top three remained tightly bunched throughout the race, but there was no change in the starting positions and Dennis was able to record his first success ahead of Giovinazzi and Leclerc, with G端nther finishing 4th by a few lengths, Alexander Albon (Signature) in 5th place and Alessio Lorandi (Van Amersfoort Racing) 6th.

RACE 2: DENNIS DOUBLES

lthough Dennis took the lead again G端nther managed to sneak into 2nd position ahead of Leclerc who kept trying to overtake. More and more insistent, the Monegasque ended up 3rd after a successful intervention of the safety car. Giovinazzi also tried his luck, G端nther defended beyond what was reasonable and ended up in the rails, causing a pileup behind him. After the restart following the red flag, Dennis won for the second time ahead of Leclerc and Giovinazzi.
RACE 3: GIOVINAZZI FINISHES AS THE WINNER

s he had done previously, Dennis started the race ahead, except that this time he didn't reach the finish, obliged to give up five laps from the end when his suspension broke during a contact. Giovinazzi expected no advantage and took the opportunity to add a lot of points to his total and therefore took the lead of the championship. G端nther managed to contain Leclerc, which is no small feat, while Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam) took 4th place ahead of Arjun Maini (Van Amersfoort Racing) and Felix Rosenqvist (Prema Powerteam).

BOCCOLACCI AT PAU :

n the street circuit of Pau, where he took last year's first wins in a car, Dorian Boccolacci showed a net gain of competitiveness in the practice sessions including two top 10s, in 9th place for the start of the Races 2 and 3, regularly beating his Team Signature team-mate, Alexander Albon. However, the competition was cut short in the first race when the Lotus F1 Junior Team driver had to stop, with his engine broken on the 11th of the 27 laps. Beyond the consequences of retiring, the regulation in this case imposes a penalty of 10 grid positions in the following three races, a particularly heavy handicap at Pau where overtaking is extremely difficult. He had no more luck in Race 2 where he started 19th with a new engine. At the first hard braking point after the start, with all competitors looking to break through, a driver pushed him and his front wing went into the car in front. The damage was minimal and Dorian could well have continued, but the commissioners showed him the technical problem flag, ordering him into the pits. He set off again a lap down and used the rest of the race to test different lines and braking tactics. Only the third race started almost normally, without much enthusiasm from 19th place on the starting grid. Dorian however attacked Ilott under braking at the train station, but was soon passed by Solomon. The latter then closed the doors in front of him, and despite several attempts, he could not overtake. His 14th place at the finish line was due to attrition in the race in front of him. Now he needs to prepare effectively for the next event in less than two weeks on the Monza racetrack.

nlike the previous meeting at Pau where he had been very quiet, Felix Rosenqvist (Prema Powerteam) was immediately prominent by taking three pole positions for the weekend at Monza, with Jake Dennis (Prema Powerteam ) and Charles Leclerc (Van Amersfoort Racing) twice in his wake.
ROSENQVIST WINS RACE 1 IN FRONT OF JENSEN

elix Rosenqvist (Prema Powerteam) started perfectly ahead of Santino Ferrucci (kfzteile24 M端cke Motorsport) dropped behind Mikkel Jensen (kfzteile24 M端cke Motorsport) later in the race. Dennis came back to 3rd position. Jensen threatened Rosenqvist for a while. The race was peppered with various incidents. The finish became a little confused behind the leading trio. Antonio Giovinazzi (Ayam Jagnony with Carlin) took 4th place from Leclerc and 13 cars didn't finish.

RACE 2: ROSENQVIST AND DENNIS LEAVE THE FRAY
T
he start was marked by retirement for Charles Leclerc, hit by Jake Dennis at the first corner. At the restart Rosenqvist took off in front of Dennis, Mikkel Jensen and Santino Ferrucci. Lance Stroll (Prema Powerteam) was 5th after a battle with Antonio Giovinazzi. Stroll pushed the Italian to the limit of the track, he lost grip and flew into a spectacular series of rolls, sending the Safety Car out. Rosenqvist managed the second restart perfectly, and Pietro Fittipaldi (Fortec Motorsports) was 5th after all these incidents. But it was not over. Michele Beretta took off and barrel rolled. Another neutralization. New restart. New adventures. The race was definitively red-flagged. Rosenqvist was the winner in front of Dennis and Jensen, with Ferrucci 4th and Menezes 5th.
RACE 3: AND THREE FOR ROSENQVIST
L
eclerc didn't let Rosenqvist get away at the lights, with Dennis 3rd and Giovinazzi 4th. A car missed it's braking and cut the track at the chicane, another flew under braking at the first chicane, which put the safety car in action for the first time. At the restart, Dennis put pressure on Leclerc and passed him. The fight was very rough for 5th place. Jensen went into another competitor and broke his suspension. The safety car went on track for the second time. The race is definitively stopped with a red flag on the 9th of 19 laps, the race management preferring to finish it there.

The specially seconded engine from VW Motorsport played a significant role in the Italian meeting, even though Dorian's engine was replaced after qualifying. Despite his 23rd time in Q1, the Signature driver had to start from the back of the grid every time. In the first race, he already moved up more than 10 places, and then
really went on the offensive in race 2. "The safety car intervened several times, but I took advantage of the re-starts to regain places. Enjoying the tow and with heavy braking, I could do a lot of overtaking. I took risks, for sure, but all went well until a slight contact with another car when others in front held back a little early. We were penalised for this, when there was no real fault. I understand that the race director was busy with all of the incidents, but there were many more dangerous manoeuvres that were not sanctioned."
Dorian was still satisfied with his performance in that race where he posted the sixth fastest time, finished 2nd of the rookies and 2nd with a VW engine. Deprived of race 3, his determination however has not weakened. "It's hard to get a result starting from the back of the grid. We must push hard to move up and I'm happy to have been able to start doing it with good speed in the race. We need to have everything in place from free practice onwards to prepare for qualifying and be in a better position in the race. This is what we strive to do at the team."

he poleman Robert Shwartzman managed to build a slight lead over his pursuers from the start. Second on the grid, Lando Norris (M端cke Motorsport), was immediately stopped by an accident and Guan Yu Zhou (Prema Powerteam) took the opportunity to recover 2nd position. The safety car came the track on lap 3. Guan Yu Zhou managed to get closer to Shwartzamnn at the restart and passed him. Ralf Aron, who had gone far after difficult qualifying, finished solidly in 3rd position at the finish.

RACE 2: ANOTHER SUCCESS FOR ZHOU

lthough he started 10th because of the reverse grid system, Zhou also managed to win Race 2. Behind him, David Beckmann (M端cke Motorsport) took 2nd place, followed onto the podium by the amazing Joao Vieira (Antonelli Motorsport), who started last as a result of problems in the first race and regained 26 places.
RACE 3: AND THREE FOR ZHOU

uan Yu Zhou had no rival at Monza. He took his third victory of the weekend against Ralf Aron, while Lando Norris finally reached a well deserved podium. Zhou dislodged Aron from the Championship lead and Shwartzman is in 3rd position.

nluckily, the poleman Mawson couldn't start correctly at the lights and Zimmermmann took the opportunity to seize the lead. After neutralization, Eriksson took part in a
good battle with the leader and ended up winning his second race of the weekend. Marvin Dienst (HTP JuniorTeam) came back to 3rd position ahead of Mattia Drudi (SMG Swiss Motorsport Group) and
Waldherr. Driven into by Thomas Preining on the straight on the last lap, Mick Schumacher hit the barriers and fractured his hand.
REVENGE FOR MAWSON IN RACE 3

his time, Mawson was given a lucky break with the neutralization to change a damaged tyre. The fight with Esmeijer was tight but this changed when his front wing damaged at
the start broke. But the Dutchman didn't have enough time to be able to launch a decisive attack on the Australian who won the race. David Beckmann (kfzteile24 M端cke Motorsport) gladly took advantage
of the worries of his rivals early in the race, but the interruption changed the game and he had to settle for 3rd place. A collision had previously eliminated Drudi, Zimmermann and Zhou.
