SUBTLE BEAUTY This project was intended to mix elements of masculinity and feminism in a way that showcased the female body in a flattering way, much like the asthetic and styling of Alexander Wang. CONSTRUCTION: Top made from 100% spun Alpaca yarn, with stitching detail mixed into the center front and back, and a crocheted hem at each edge.

JADED PERSPECTIVE This project was inspired by the idea of inside emotions vs. outside perception, and how human beings use facades to armor themselves from the judgement of others. I also explored the idea of photo-realism through spray paint stenciling, much like the style of graffiti artist Miles McGregor. CONSTRUCTION: Outer dress constructed from 100% PVC Plastic, with burning as a technique to edge-finish. Inner skirt constructed from Nylon synthetic velvet and layers of nude tulle.

SELECTED WORKS FROM 2013 CFDA SCHOLARSHIP COMPETITION The following project was selected to represent the University of Cincinnati College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning in the 2013 CFDA Competition held annually in New York City. “Metamorphosis” is an experimental menswear collection designed around the idea of “revolutionary change.” Drawing inspiration from both nature and industry, the separates in this Collection fuse elements of futuristic design with experimental fabrications and an earthy color palette. This collection is designed for the Fall/Winter season of 2015. By the use of dip-dying techniques, creative, unusual seaming, and experimental fabric choices, “Metamorphosis” creates an illusion of physical transformation within the garments themselves.

“...People always ask me how I start a collection, and I tell them that I just look around. What am I tired of? What am I in the mood for? Real fashion change comes from real changes in real life. Everything else is just decoration. - Tom Ford.
