Clifford Brown School of Jazz Dedicated to the postgraduate study of jazz, this facility was inspired by the soul of the music. Jazz is the music that most closely reflects life. It is a combination of unique individuals that respond to each other and complement one another. Impromptu elements give the listeners a new experience every time while the rhythm remains constant and allows the comings and goings of the impromptu elements to occur seamlessly without disruption. This music facility is the architectural form of this idea.

Children’s Behavioral Health Facility Children in behavioral health facilities are asked to give up so much of their lives: their families, their belonging, their freedom, and their thoughts. Through the design of this facility the residents are given back a sense of belonging on every level of privacy. Everything from a community courtyard, to a “family living room, to a custom-designed bed for each child provides a deep sense of personal belonging and ownership for each child.

Riverside Library Books are the symbol of knowledge and wisdom. They give permanency to thoughts and ideas. Therefore, this library located on the Riverwalk of San Antonio, Texas celebrates the written word by creating a sacred pace for them. The books are located in a tower surrounded by reading and support areas. Study of the area brought a design that serves both the people on the river level as well as the people on the street level.

Theater as a City Located at the entrance to the historic and cultural district of Bryan, Texas, this children’s theater and attached public park connects the people with their location. This educational and entrainment facility creates a theater as a city. The glass diagonal street draws people in, offering pedestrians the opportunity to interact with the architecture as well as the community. Smaller “side streets” intersect this “Broadway” street dividing the building into “city blocks” each with their own function.

Sustainable Design Camp
Students from universities around the world came together for a 5-day collaborative charrete workshop in which master plans were devised for the regeneration of the Dhaka slum of Hazaribagh. The workshop explored a multidisciplinary approach to developing a sustainable urban design to improve the current contaminated and congested conditions. Following the participant’s return to their home countries, each proposal was developed into further completion and prepared for final compilation and submittal in the form of a publication of which I was an editor.
(2015- 2020)
• Poor drainage system • No parking spaces
• Minimal traffic regulations and disregard for any that are in place • Traffic congestion • Lack of road maintenance • Insufficient waste management system
Road Network • •
• Roadway shared by all means of transportation (car, van, CNG, • rickshaw, bicycle, pedestrian, livestock) (20202025)
Recreational Zone

• Adaptive reuse and renovation of selected buildings into multifamily housing • Construction of residential development prototype Creation of a parallel access road for the Embankment road Road updates along highlighted routes (width expansion, dead end connections, sidewalk creation/management) Drainage system development
The Recreation Zone will be developed around the canal. This area is currently undeveloped and is covered with temporary structures for the leather industry.

Wall Detailing Tasked with deepening our understanding of construction details, the two-dimensional wall section of an inspiring building of our choice was replicated, enhanced, and transformed into an axonometric view. Having chosen a beautifully designed detail from the Bathhouse in Lochau by Lang + Schwarzler, my understanding blossomed as I got to know all of the pieces of the system intimately.
