How many times shall you tear me down? How many time will you wash me over? How many times are you willing to crawl? How many times are you willing to see my rotting body? How many times are you willing to expose and explore me?
Brief: - Design a Ferry Kiosk within the boarder of the Docklands Arm - The Ferry Kiosk is designed for docking relatively small boat (capacity of 50 people) - Must draw in elements or aspects surveyed from the selected site that responds to the edge condition
Intention: During the site investigation we were required to take photos of aspects that we find appealing, in this case , as the site that I chose was sparse and mainly composed of small elements, I decided to focus on decaying elements discovered around the edge.
Intentions: The next couple of images were simple sketches to capture the element of the site. I focused on line work, the sketchiness to mimic how the scenery itself is slowly disappearing .
First Concept: Kiosk designed based on circulation... At this stage form was not highly taken into consideration...

First Concept (continued): The main idea was focused on the circulation, where the journey through the kiosk was similar to a rock’s fragments being carried away by the sea - as to the passengers being the fragments themselves being guided out by the boat.
Second Concept: After much consideration, the facade of the kiosk was reconsidered. This time rather circulation focused, the degrading idea became the form. In this case, using two photos taken from the site, it cemented my idea for the kiosk.

project 2 the boat builders’ yard
I am not done yet, I am still standing. See me reaching through the ground, I am strong, I will anchor myself to the ground. And I shall be the barrier of your troubles, but be gates to your solutions...
Brief: - Design a boat builders’ yard - The boat builders’ yard needs to have the following: //Boat Building area //Admin area // Workshop space //Tools area //Boat painting booth //Fibre-glassing area //Lunch room //Admin rooms //Access to water //Car parking //Crane/ Boat lifting //Dust extraction //Circulation - Must draw in elements or aspects surveyed from the selected site that responds to the edge condition

Photos of old sheds located in Docklands Peter Bennetts (2000)
Initial Concept: The site I chose was where the North Wharf located. Nearby the North Wharf was an anchor. Initially my first concept was that I imagined an anchor has dropped on top of a metal shed which later defines the program of the shed.
Second Concept: I initially was intimidated by the North Wharf because being told it was heritage listed I didn’t want to touch the elements. However after some consideration, I decided to make use of the inner beams and have them projected towards the base of the shed - thus separating the programs.

project 3 the education community facility
We come crashing down, a statement to be considered Weaving through here and there, have you reached where you need to be yet?
Brief: - Design an education community facility - The facility must be located at the same site as to where your boat builders’ yard is located - Must include the following: //Teaching space //Storage space //Gallery space //Workshop space //Outdoor space //Amenities //Physical connection - Must draw in elements or aspects surveyed from the selected site that responds to the edge condition
Initial Concept: Taking on a similar element to my finalised proposal for the boat builders’ yard, I decided to test extension of the beams to create certain pockets of programs to create interaction programming. My main aim was to create different spaces that though have a single purpose but then can be interchanged depending on which other program they intersect with.
Second Concept: For the second approach, as triangles are a challenging geometry to create flexible spaces, I decided to replicate pitched roof forms and stack different arrangements - studying the possible spaces and programs I can create.
Concept Presented During Mid Semester Review: The approach fro my review was, in order to have the pods/ sheds embedded tidily within the shed, I have them running across the same direction to flow along smoothly with the original shed. The materiality was intended to be a mesh facade that wraps around the pods to leave the pods appear that they’re grounded within a light airy atmosphere.

Before initial design:
After mid-sem, we were given certain precedents to study to see whether we could draw elements from the precedent building into our design. I was given the Vitrahaus Museum by Herzog & de Meuron. I was intrigued by the connection between the second, third and fourth floor, the connection is created by a void. *each drawing is to scale at 1/200 on A3
Before initialVitraHaus// design:
Apart from studying the precedent building in plan, we also studied it in section. I thought one of the most significant aspects of the building was the spaces interlocking one Herzog & dewithin Meuron another Section A *each drawing is to scale at 1/200 on A3 0
