Successful completion of ACT WorkKeys assessments in Applied Mathematics, Locating Information and Reading for Information can lead to earning ACT’s National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC), a portable credential earned by more than 1 million people across the United States. This credential is recognized by many companies and is often used in the hiring process.

The WorkKeys Job Profile The WorkKeys profile is an assessment of any job to determine the skills and skill levels necessary to perform that job successfully. Trained WorkKeys Profilers are able to evaluate and determine skills standards as related to the WorkKeys assessments. The employer is able to set a specific WorkKeys score requirement for those applying for a position and is also able to measure the skillset of those currently in a specific position. Apprenticeship Carolina™ Apprenticeship Carolina™ works to ensure all employers in South Carolina have access to the information and technical assistance they need to create demand-driven registered apprenticeship programs. Apprenticeship consultants guide companies through the registered apprenticeship development process from initial information to full recognition in the National Registered Apprenticeship System.

Enterprise Zone Retraining Credit The Enterprise Zone Training-incentive program helps existing industries maintain their competitive edge and retain their existing workforce. Companies that qualify for E-Zone are reimbursed 50 percent of training expenses up to $500 per employee per year. Qualified employees include production employees, maintenance staff, and first line supervisors. All E-Zone training must be approved and documented by a company’s local technical college. Program fees include a $500 application fee (must re-apply every five years) and a $500 fee in years two through five.
