At the start of Level 5, I made a list of goals:
•
Use every practical brief as a chance to push forward practical skills (design, roughs, media etc.)
•
Know journals, publishers and events to get involved with. Don’t just wait for work, go out and find it!
•
Work on observational drawing
•
Put energy, personality and effort into it! Get in the zone, work hard, be playful and enjoy making things.
“Style”
Saying you don’t have a ‘style’ is like saying you don’t have an accent
“We’ve decided to ask someone else to do the cover. Nothing against you, it’s just that we want something really professional.”
so wow (NOT designed by me)
much professional
Don’t work for free Make sure that both parties sign a contract before starting work If stuff gets really awful, ask John for help, he’s a lifesaver

Collaboration is fun if everyone is nice to one another and works hard! (less stressful)

Enjoy it - don’t worry too much about the outcome or grades

If things get too much - don’t shut yourself off! Talk to tutors and friends - they’re super supportive and they can help you!
•
You’re going to miss Matt and Jamie (but Teresa and Ben aren’t as scary as they look, promise)
